Pearl Cuffs (Review)

When Babeland gave me the chance to review the Bijoux Indescrets pearl cuffs I jumped at the chance.  The second I saw them a fantasy bloomed, large and dark, in the recesses of my mind.

I had images of formalwear and candlelight, gourmet meals and decadent desserts.  A meal served silently,  these dainty pearl cuffs binding my wrists. Images of kneeling at his feet, being hand fed bits of his meal and sips of his wine – the pearl cuffs wrapping my wrists, hands helplessly still in my lap.

I knew before I ever saw them up close the mindset they’d create; helpless due not to the strength behind leather and steel but the elegance and beauty of pearl and dainty chain.  Knowing you could easily get loose, effortlessly break the chain – but you won’t.

A bondage more of the mind than physical, despite it’s physical presence.

The pearl cuffs definitely don’t disappoint.  I haven’t gotten to fulfill my fantasy but having these cuffs in my possession brings me that much closer, makes it that much hotter.

The cuffs come packaged in a black metal tin decorated with a pretty, black on black flower motif.  I can’t tell how the design is done.  It doesn’t appear painted and it’s not stickers but the tin itself is worth a review; easily reusable, industrial yet feminine.  Almost hidden amongst the flowers and birds on the box are two barely noticable handcuffs.  Cute!

The cuffs themselves are delicate; four rows of strung faux pearls joined by a delicate black metal chain.  Each cuff is attached to the chain by a small clasp on the opposite end.  Loop the pears around the wrist, open the clasp and attach to the chain.  Attachment is possible at any point on the chain, making it easy to wear them snug with more length between the wrists or loose, with less length separating the wrists. (It’s kind of difficult to explain.  The pictures to follow will show what I mean more easily than I can do with words)

These aren’t heavy duty bondage cuffs.  Obviously you could break the thin chain or the strung pearls themselves if you wanted to get loose.  They’re not intended to be bondage of the leather and spike variety.

They’re elegant.  Pretty.  Useful only if you want to be bound, want to be helpless…  and look gorgeous doing it!  Not meant for roughhousing or tugging and testing the restraint, these cuffs are meant to be a pretty symbol.  An accessory, not a hard core bondage device.

The whole thing – both cuffs and chain – is 20 inches long and connects to make two cuffs suitable for small to large wrists.  Probably a bit large for a very tiny woman and a bit small for a very plus sized person.  I’m plump – a size 14 – and the cuffs connect leaving about four or five inches of chain between my wrists.

All in all a really excellent toy that I’m glad to have in my toybox.  I cannot WAIT for a chance to use them to fulfill that fantasy!  Much thanks to Babeland for sending me the pearl cuffs.  If these aren’t your thing check the site out anyhow.  They have enough sex toys to satisfy just about any taste or desire.
