We go Together…

…like (insert a bunch of gibberish sung by Olivia Newton John and John Travolta and other, assorted freaks here).

wet-togetherUm.  Yeah.  That song from Grease goes thru my head every time I look at this lube; Wet Together.

The concept?  A pink bottle of tingling, silicone based lube for her, a blue bottle of warming, water based lube for him.  Put them on each other and, according to the box, “The two unite, body to body, heart to heart.  Two exciting sensations….  Become ONE…  together.”

In reality?  Not so much.

I actually like both the lubes.  The water based warms gently but enough to feel it.  The silicone based tingles just a bit.  Separately they’re nice, together they’re a bit more intense.  Externally they actually sort of rock.  But internally?  I didn’t like it a bit.  I felt like I had a candy cane up my puss and my cervix decided it was not all that fond of a heated tingle.

It just felt weird and distracting, man.

Let me back up a bit.

When I first received the lubes I was surprisingly impressed by them.  The blue bottle of warming lube for him is slick and not super sticky like some water based lubes.  I put some on the back of my hand and it was nicely warm and even the tiny drop I used took a good while to rub into the skin and dry out.

The pink bottle of tingling lube for her is even slicker, seeing as it’s silicone based. (Which means do NOT use it on silicone or cyberskin type toys!)  It didn’t tingle much on the back of my hand but it was deliciously slippery like any quality silicone lube.  It never dried out, just absorbed into the skin like a massage oil or heavy lotion.

Together on the back of my hand they created a hybrid sort of lube; not as long lasting as pure silicone but also a bit lighter and more slippery, more wet.  I thought…  oh…  it’s like liquid silk without the glue smell!  Both clean up easily with soap and water, neither got sticky, gummy, flakey or icky.

Then Backseat Boohoo asked what it tasted like and I sacrificed myself to the cause.

The men’s stuff?  Had no real taste at all.  The women’s?  It tasted like Vicks VapoRub.  I do not recommend using this until after any oral sex you’re going to do is… done.  I had a bad, silicone film on my tongue and a menthol taste in the back of my throat for hours.

Ok.  So back to actual use.  I was impressed with the back of the hand experiment and excited to use this during sex so I stuck the two bottles next to our bed as a reminder.

The bottles, by the way, are small; 2 ounces each with a color co-ordinated flip top cap.  They’ve got the Wet splash logo on the front and the word Together running down the bottle.  They’re obviously lube but at least there are no embarrassing naked women on the bottles.  I keep these next to the bed and don’t worry a bit if they’re seen.

The very next time we hopped into bed together, I scooped them up and wiggled them around and said “wanna try ‘em, wanna try ‘em, wanna try ‘em?” enough times that Taylor said ok.  And so we schlooped them on each other but I’d already clicked the light off and in the glow of the t.v. we got them backwards.  He tingled, I warmed.  Regardless, we both thought the sensations were nice.  We even liked them as we were sort of rubbing together, letting them mix along his dick and my vulva.

It was nice.  Warming and tingling at the same time make for a tiny sensory fiesta.

And then we moved along to penetration and after about two minutes we both stopped, looked at each other and crunkled our noses.
Not nearly as nice as it had been.

He felt like the coolness and tingle sort of diminished the actual fucking, dick in a pussy sensation and I just felt like I’d gotten an Arctic blast against my cervix.

All in all, I like the lubes.  I like them separately a lot.  I like them together externally.  We’ve tried them a couple times now – even managing to get them on the right anatomy a time or two – but I think they’re something we’ll use less together and more solo.

I like both of them for masturbation, he likes the men’s warming for solo time.  I even like to use a bit of the tingling, hers stuff to get myself stimulated before I’m going to wank or fuck.  The tingles make me uber aware of my pussy.

I can’t, personally, recommend them for their intended “together” use, however.  Some may like the sensation a lot just be aware that it is more intense than you may expect.   I would actually buy them, however, for separate use.  They’re good, decent lubes that do what they say they will for a fairly decent price.

Mad thanks to sextoy.com for letting me try and review them!

  1. We tried the KY version. Wasn’t impressed and had to keep turning the light back on to figure out which one was His/ Hers when it wore off. Grrr. They should at least make the bottles/tubes different shapes or have some kind of braille on them.
