The Ella.
It’s been hyped half to death and my expectations were thru the roof.
Turns out the Ella is really just another silicone dildo.
A very nice one, sure. And, sure, it has a great design that finds the g-spot effortlessly. It’s beautiful and elegant and packaged perfectly, like all LELO toys.
But it’s not the best thing I’ve ever laid eyes, hands or vagina upon.
It’s a good, solid g-spot dildo. It’s going to be a very useful tool for those less familiar with g-spot stimulation or for those struggling with it.
But it’s not my favorite toy. It’s not going to replace all other dildos. It’s not even going to be the first toy I grab for. I actually prefer The Hulk with it’s nice curve. Or the Sugar Drop with it’s girth. Or just about all of my Fun Factory vibes, especially the Gigolo with his flat but differently shaped head – which I often use without batteries, as dildos.
The Ella finds my g-spot easily and accurately. But the flat head, angled so perfectly for g-spotting, also seems to catch on my pubic bone with almost every thrust. I had to completely modify the way I fuck myself in order to get off with it, something that distracted me and irked me a bit.
The non g-spot end worked more easily for me, stroking my g-spot even though it’s not designed to necessarily do so. But, again, it’s not the holy grail, not the be all and end all of sex toys.
It’s good.
It’s not quite as good as the hype led me to believe it would be.
My real review will be live soon over on Eden Fantasys and I”ll post a link when it is but, until then, here’s some pictures.
The Ella is really very beautiful in the way only simple, elegant things can be. It comes in typical LELO packaging with the typical white satin drawstring pouch. Typical for LELO is lovely and understated rather than plastic and icky. The Ella has superb curves and balance, a flexible and velvety texture. It’s a very, very nice dildo.
It’s just not… you know… all that and a bag of chips, too.
If it appeals to you, get it. You’ll love it. But if you like more girth or already find your g-spot easily, don’t get it because of the hype. You may be disappointed.
I definitely wish I’d held off and gotten the Elise instead.

I drink a lot of coffee, ride a motorcycle, have an 18 year old son and a decade long relationship that began in a chat room.

That’s kind of what I thought too. I like it, but it’s not what I was expecting. I guess with everyone else saying it was earth shattering it made my expectations way too high.

It’s kinda nice to read a not so glowing review of the Ella. I’ve heard soooo many awesome reviews. I really like the look of the Sugar Drop better (orange is much more exciting than black or white), and you said it’s thicker, yes? Does the Sugar Drop have that noticeable seam on it like Ella? I’m a little afraid of getting anything with seams since my Ophoria Rapture #5 experience/incident. That thing left me feeling pain with other toys and intercourse for at least a week or two after using it. Thanks for the intro-review here, I look forward to the one on EF.
I just got a new vibrator that sucked (well I wish it sucked…but it didn’t do anything, but vibrate and vibrate poorly). I wish I’d thought to read all the reviews floating around out there before shopping. I went in person and was overwhelmed by the choices and too embarrassed to read the backs of everything. I’ll check here before I shop again. I love how honest you are. Thanks!

I actually prefer the Tantus Acute to the Lelo Ella for g-spotting, but I always recommend the Ella to people who don’t know where their g-spot is because Ella makes it so easy to find. :)
Sorry it didn’t meet your expectations. :( But at least you liked Gigi!
