A Little of This, A lot of Busy

ist2_274439_8_a_m_receptionUgh.  I haven’t written a "real" post in almost two weeks.

Life has become exceedingly busy.

Weekends are spent out and about, riding and enjoying the summer.  And the weekdays?  Work, work and more work.

It’s been a long time since I put in anything resembling full time hours.  And even though I’m working from home it’s still a full, busy day and leaves me little time for keeping up with things here or for reading friend’s blogs.  So if I’m even worse than normal at commenting on your stuff, forgive me?  I am reading – honest!

It’s weird. I really am not used to these sorts of hours.  I really, really took not working for granted all those years; having all the time in the world to putter around and do whatever I wanted beyond cooking and cleaning and dick sucking.

Now? I have to do all that amidst working, on top of working, after working.  And I’ll admit I’m feeling pretty stressed at times.

I LOVE the working.  It’s amazing to work with a company I love, from my desk, in my jammies if I wanna, whilst drinking my own fabulous coffee.  It’s amazing to get paid for what I do best; chatter and rant and babble.  Taylor and I are both digging it – both the feeling of purpose it gives me and the extra income.  But I’m still stressed some days.

I get up earlier – much earlier – than everyone else.  I work a few hours then everyone else gets up.  General chaos reigns for a bit while everyone wants something; to talk to me, breakfast, clean clothes, for me to find misplaced shoes, dogs in a riot cuz everyone else is moving around and that excites them, etc, etc.  The rest of my day is vaguley insane.  Meetings and chats with the boss types and making lunch and trying to find time to pee and people (people. yeah. that’s Taylor and The Teen) not giving a crap that I’m…  you know…  working…  and jabbering incessantly to and around me.  Movies blasting, video games blaring, dogs no one else bothers to take out, phone calls from out in the yard asking me to come out and give someone a hand…

By the time I’m done I’ve been at the computer for 10 hours and my back and head hurt and it’s time to make dinner and then we end up having to run out somewhere or I have laundry to finish or…

The other day I actually ran away. I didn’t say a word to anyone, just grabbed my book, a bottle of water, a cup of coffee, ran a bath and hid in the bathroom.  I was going to poke someone in the eye if I didn’t get just twenty minutes of peace and quiet and "me" time.

I’m big on "me" time. I think I’ve mentioned that before.

Anyhow…

I have a new found sympathy/empathy for those who do power exchange 24/7 and still manage to work and go to school and whatnot.  It’s a lot harder than I ever imagined.

I’m also behind on reviews so if you guys see a lot of them I apologize. I’ll try to keep them in the sidebar and not bombarding the front page.

So what else is new?

I got a hair cut.  Six plus inches lobbed straight off the back and lots of layers cut into the rest.

Ignore the wrinkles and whatnot – totally unedited pics. :P

I also repinked it. My hair, that is. Found some new stuff at Sally’s and the color – bubble gum pink – intrigued me so I figured I’d give it a shot.  So far, so good but we’ll see how long it holds up before it starts to fade.

And that’s about it for now.  Time to get back to workin’.

Check out Eden Cafe for a bit of “what I’ve been doing”. :)  Between that and the SexIs PR, I’m a busy, busy bee but I really will try to get back here a little more often.  Or a lot more often.  Or, yanno, in case I’m lying, bookmark EC and get your daily dose of me there. (You should seriously bookmark or put Eden Cafe in your feedreader anyhow cuz we’re going to be doing guest blogs and contests and stuff once things are better established and you might win something or something!)

Catch y’all later!

xoxo

  1. I definitely can’t do the working full time and D/s thing. In that scenario the first thing that disappears is my ‘me time’ and me without ‘me time’ is not pretty.

I think your haircut looks much purdier than my hair cut… :)

  2. The length is great- so much bounce and body! If there’s anything I know, it’s hair. Shorter lengths are easier to maintain, there is nothing I dread more than the 20 minute comb after a shower. Wet hair on wet skin= one of the most disgusting things… especially since my hair falls out (thanks a lot PCOS). Was it necessary for her to cut so much though? Did the splitends travel that far up the hair shaft? It looks very healthy now and will continue to be so! Just make sure you don’t put it up while it’s still wet or braid it too often as it causes hair to break, especially if you want to grow it out again.

I love Sally, I live for their discounts- the Korean shops are a lot cheaper but you don’t know what the fuck you’re buying. However, $20 for everything I need to do my hair with limited chemicals is effin great. I bought the L’oreal Mega Browns in chocolate (it takes 3 bottles) about 4 days ago. It seemed too light from the swatch so I used a lvl 10 as opposed to the 20 or 30 volume they recommended and it actually came out quite fantastic. Because I didn’t lift, it’s so brown it’s almost a black and in the light there are massive/red tones that shine through. The results are lot more impressive than Ion.

As far as busy goes, I know it and I will not embrace it. In fact, I fought it… which means I quit my job. My days were not my own and now I want them to be. I love being home, this is my sanctuary, my respite from the world- I’d give anything to work from here so I’m going to try to.

    • Oh my gosh, I didn’t have a split end on my head. What I get is breakage; mostly from bleaching where it’s pink and from it tying itself in knots on the motorcycle, but from over combing and ponytails and styling, too, I suppose.

Mostly it just sort of grows in a “V” so the tip of the “V” is thinner than the rest and they’re always cutting it up to meet the fuller growth.

So while I got close to 8 inches cut off at the very tip of the “V”, about four to five inches of it was very thin and straggly looking. I still think she could have left a bit more and still had it be healthy but she was one of those “oh, why grow it long if you’re only going to wear it up?” types. Cuntish, really. I didn’t like her.

Sally’s is SO awesome. I’ve used those browns you mentioned and they’re terrific! Is not using a 20 vl going to make it semi or demi permanent instead of permanent, though?
