So, we went to the zoo the other day.  Didn’t get to spend long enough and missed the big cats and the bears but I got a lot of great pictures anyhow and it was a fun time with friends.  Can’t complain, right? Right.

I don’t know what it is about the zoo. I can go five, six, ten times a year and still have a good time every time.  It’s just so pretty, the walking is so nice and the animals are so beautiful.

Yesterday, Taylor got his new laptop and got all excited to be “mobile” so we cruised around half the night looking for wifi hotspots.

You know there just aren’t very many in Milwaukee?  I was sad. It would sure be nice to find a park or somewhere we could go to during the day, he could mess around, I could work, we could actually enjoy the summer instead of sitting around in air conditioned fake air day in and day out.

So…

Today Taylor is building me an awning on the back balcony.  It is, without a doubt, going to look redneck as hell but, you know what?  I don’t care.  It’s one of the nicest things he’s ever done.  It’s not just the awning itself it’s the space to go, sit in the shade, chill out, get away from my desk, get away from the noise.  He’s giving me peace.

This is why I love him, this knowing so well what I need, what will make me happy.

He may not give me everything I want, every time I ask but he always finds a way to give me what I need.

He makes my heart happy.

No idea what’s on the agenda for tomorrow.  Possibly a thermos full of coffee and a day under my awning, typing up reviews.

Regardless, it’s the weekend and I am enjoying it completely.  That Teen is at his nanna’s, the sex has been good, the dog has behaved, the new kitty’s fleas are gone and he’s allowed in the house and I am nearly stress free and, once I climb in a hot tub later, will probably be so relaxed I melt.
