Today I watched a group of twenty or so kids at a bus stop do nothing while two boys beat someone up.

I”ve seen my share of fights. Hell, I’ve been in my share. But it pissed me OFF to watch the one I saw today. (I’d have gotten off the motorcycle and tried to stop it if we hadn’t been three lanes of traffic deep) These boys were simply wailing on the other kid – who was already down, cowering on the ground, head wrapped in his arms. They were jumping on him, kicking him, punching him. And not a single one of the other kids tried to stop it.

Now maybe this kid deserved it. Maybe he raped someone’s sister or something. But I doubt it. They were only twelve, fourteen years old.

What in the fuck is the WRONG with kids today?
And what in the fuck is wrong with adults that NO ONE got out of their car at that stoplight to say a thing?

It makes me furious. And completely reinforced my reasons for NEVER, EVER allowing my son to attend the Milwaukee Public Schools.

People are raising their children to be apathetic, uncaring little dicks. And it makes me so damned mad I can’t find the words to describe it. And I have no one to be mad at.

At least, though I may not be perfect, I am raising my son better than that.
