Am I inundating you with massage products today? Well, I did say I have a weakness….
This time it’s the Babeland Massage Candle. You’ve seen massage candles, right? Regular looking, highly scented candles that melt into a puddle of oil you can pour onto a body and use for massage. Unlike candles used for wax play, these don’t harden up. They rub in. And they’re not super hot but, instead, maintain a safe and comfortably warm temperature. So if you’re looking for wax sensation play, these are not what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a luxurious massage coupled with warm, radiating heat? These are the ticket.
Unfortunately, Babeland’s massage candle is a little different than most. It’s only ingredients are soy wax, shea butter and fragrance; no oils. This makes for a thicker, waxier massage than what you get from candles that have additional oils mixed into the wax.
The Babeland Massage Candle comes packaged in a heavy duty, cylindrical shaped cardboard box with a lift off lid. The box is white, printed with discreet, light gray babeland text and symbols with a bright orange (in my case, since I got the citron fig scent) label on the front that lists the scent. Inside the box is a 3 oz candle in a glass jar. The candle itself is an off white/creamy color with a nice, cotton wick with no metal in it. (clean burning, good for the environment)
Upon opening the cardboard, the scent rises immediately and is quite strong. Not overwhelming but strong. Unfortunately, I loathe the scent. At first, it seemed ok but after burning it once, it seems to have changed. While burning, it began to smell very hot and very chemically, possibly due to chemical fragrance added. Now, even opening the box all I smell is a harsh, soapy, chemical scent that I can’t call citrus-y or fig-like. It actually turns my stomach a bit. That’s just me, however, and just this scent. Other scents may be better, other people may react better to this scent. Fragrance is a very personal thing and we all seem to like different types and levels of scent.
In use, the candle melts to a pool of usable wax quite quickly; about twenty to thirty minutes after lighting I had enough to do a full back massage, plus extra bits. The “oil” is quite waxy when used and feels almost like there is a film left behind so a shower is suggested after using this. It does slide nicely on the skin and lasts long enough, providing lessened friction, to get the job done.
I wish I could say more but, due to my issues with the smell, we stopped using this as soon as I had enough info to do a basic review. These candles come in Rice Flower, Pashmina, Mango Vanilla and the Citron Fig so your choices are varied. I’d love to try the Mango Vanilla to see if it’s just this scent I don’t like so I may pick one up at a later date. If I do, I shall certainly update this reveiw.

I’ve had the Njoy Eleven for over a month – probably closer to two – and I’m completely and totally past due on this review and yet, for some reason, I’m really struggling with writing it. How do you describe something as amazing as this sex toy? How do you find the words to describe [...]
Would it be ridiculous to simply type “Oh. My. Gods.” over and over as a review? Probably. And yet, when I look at the Intrigue – the P-spot and handle on Eden Fantasys — it’s about all I can think. Just looking at it takes away most of my powers of speech, completely vanishes any [...]
