Better Late than Never

I’m going to admit it.  I’ve been requesting the b-soft by B Swish from just about everyone I review for for a little over a year.  I wanted this baby BAD.  When I first saw it I was intrigued by the futuristic look of it, totally like something you’d see in bad sci fi.  And it was a clit vibe, for heaven’s sakes.  Not a traditional vibe I’d use on my clit, not a boring pocket rocket or bullet but a real, real clit vibe.

I was still fairly new to reviewing so don’t make fun of me, damn it.

When I finally got it recently from sextoy.com, I was all sorts of happy.  All. Sorts. Of. Happy.

But then I opened it and, yanno what?  I’m pretty torn.

It’s a cool vibe.  Mine is silver and pink and it still totally reminds me of the Jetsons or something.  It’s rechargeable, so no batteries to buy, ever.  It’s got a neat shape that feels fairly comfortable in my hand.

I just keep comparing it to other clit vibes I’ve tried in the last year and it comes up short every time.  The Nea, the Better than Chocolate, the Laya Spot, the b Curious (also by B Swish), the SaSi…  all out perform the b-soft and are better designed.

Which makes me wish I’d reviewed this first, so I could have been as impressed with it as I wanted to be.

The b-soft is hard plastic with a curved, rounded ridge along the bottom side  to nestle between your labia and stimulate your clitoris.  It’s top is flat with an indent where the buttons sit.  Unfortunately, while it does feel good vibrating away at your bits, it’s a very diffused vibration with no single area where you can get pinpoint stimulation or pressure, making it very difficult to orgasm with it. There is a flat spot at the very tip but it’s broad and, maybe it’s just me, but I cannot get it to sit in the right spot to fully take advantage of where the vibes are strongest.   And the buttons, while recessed into the groove/channel on the top, are still super easy to push accidentally, changing your level of vibration mid play when you least want to do so.

It is rechargeable, which is another point in it’s favor, but unfortunately the charging port leaves a lot to be desired.  The small rubber cover that is supposed to keep the charging port free of wetness and dirt simply will not stay on.  Right out of the box it was unattached and there is no way to make it stay…  attached.  At all.  It just flops there.  I put it on, it falls off, put it on, it falls off. Disappointing and aesthetically very unappealing.

The buttons on the top are nice, at least.  A dedicated on/off button that sets the toy to buzzing mildly.  A plus button that takes you thru three steady speeds — the last of which is QUITE strong and buzzy —  and then thru four different patterns of pulsation and escalation.  A simple minus button takes you back down, decreasing thru the patterns and steady vibes until you’re back to low.

Because it’s plastic, the b-soft is very, very light, almost weightless in your hand, which is definitely a plus when it comes to hand fatigue but a minus when it comes to feeling like quality.

Overall, at it’s price, that is the b-soft’s biggest problem.  It should be a quality toy and fails to live up to those expectations.

I do appreciate the chance to review it, though.  At least now my curiosity is satisfied.  A huge thank you to sextoy.com for that. :)  Like the saying goes…  better late than never.  And I’m glad I got to review it, even if the timing was bad.  I think B Swish is aware of the flaws in this toy and these are the reasons the b curious is so, so, SO much nicer.  They’ve learned and improved and that is a grand thing!
