Body – and lip! – Candy

We’ve established that I like bath and body products, lotions, potions and lubes, right?  I think I might have mentioned it before…

Yes?  Ok.  Good.

Then you won’t be surprised that I recently ordered Body Candy Body Butter by Sexy Living to review, will you?

Body Candy is a set of massage balms that come in adorable little 1 oz tins.  The site calls it body butter but it really is more balm than butter; it has that tub of carmex or salve consistency rather than the texture of country crock or whipped butter.  Although I suppose it is similar, as well, to a stick of butter…

I digress.  The labels themselves say balm.  Moving onward…

Body Candy comes in three flavors — and yes, I say flavors rather than scents because it’s a lickable, edible massage balm!  The green labeled tin contains chocolate mint truffle flavor, the red labeled is full of cinnamon hearts flavor and the balm in the orange labeled tin is orange creamsicle.

Upon opening each tin you’re immediately hit with the scent of them.  It’s not overwhelming or anything but it’s definitely noticeable.  The chocolate mint smells pleasantly like a mint truffle, the orange creamsicle like a minty orange and the cinnamon hearts like a mug of spiced orange tea.  I know.  It seems odd.  Only the chocolate mint is truly similar in taste and scent to it’s name.  The others, while nice, are not quite what you expect.

All three are, as mentioned, the consistency of a balm and have a slight color to them; brown for the mint, yellow for the cinnamon and creamy white for the orange.  Dipping a finger into the tin gives you a slight coating of balm that is about enough to coat your lips.  (And this does work great as a lip balm!)  In order to actually rub it on a sizable part of the body you need to really dig in and scoop some out.  Because these are 1 oz tins, you’re not going to get much more than one or two back/body rubs out of a single tin. But if you use it only on erogenous zones like nipples, vulva, lips, neck, toes — places where you only need a wee bit and you’re only using it so you can lick it right off again —  it should last a good, long time.  I think that’s the best use, really, though it does melt well enough for massaging a large area and spreads well, creating a frictionless massage for around ten minutes.  In reality, there are other, cheaper, better products for that and this will last longer if you use it for smaller bits that are likely to be licked.

And lick is what you should do!  All of these taste quite wonderful and are full of natural ingredients.  Each balm contains raw coconut oil, raw cocoa butter, cold pressed sunflower oil, cold pressed wheat germ oil, vitamin E, beeswax, rosemary oil and stevia, which is an herbal sweetener.  The chocolate mint also contains cocoa powder and pure essential oils of peppermint and vanilla.  The orange creamsicle has added sweet orange, vanilla and peppermint essential oils and the cinnamon hearts contains pure essential oils of cinnamon leaf and sweet orange.  You can tell by the ingredients that this is why they taste a bit off from what  you expect.  The orange, with it’s rosemary and peppermint, has no real hopes of tasting like a creamsicle and the cinnamon, with it’s sweet orange, is much more like spiced orange tea than cinnamon candy.  As I said, though, they’re tasty despite this, just not the taste you expect.

Overall, I’m really enjoying these.  The cinnamon, in particular, gives me a wonderful, warm feeling when I use it.  Comforting, emotionally warm, not physically.  I thought perhaps these would tingle or warm a bit due to the essential oils but they really don’t.  Not enough to really notice for more than a second or two, anyhow.

They do rub nicely into the skin, absorbing and leaving you soft rather than sticky and the scent lasts for a good hour or so after you’ve finished — if you haven’t licked it off!

My favorite use really is as lip balm, though.  I get to enjoy the scent, the taste, the soft lips and Taylor finds me endlessly kissable when I use them!

A word of warning — these are oil based and, as such, not compatible with latex!  Do not use with latex toys or condoms.  Because they’re natural oils they should not be harmful to the vagina but if you are sensitive to yeast infections you may want to use caution.    Essential oils can also give some people issues.  Discontinue use if you develop any irritation and, for gods sakes, do not get these in your eyes or nasal passages.  They’ll burn like the dickens!
