We got a new puppy. :)
Part of the reason I’ve been so quiet lately. Health wise things are improving. At least I’m healing from the ablation procedure and should be able to have sex soon. Lol. But do you have any idea how much energy it takes to deal with a puppy and a beagle?
Oy.
The puppy is a ten week old rottweiler. We’ve had him two weeks now and he’s nowhere near house broken so I spend most of the day cleaning up pee and poo. Did you know puppies pee like every fourteen seconds? (Ok, exaggeration, but still….)
His name is King Leonidas (yes, we’re enamored with the 300) and I’m in love – even if he is a wee monster. The beagle is in love, too. She hated him the first two or three days but has recently taken to grooming him and teaching him how to go down the stairs and playing with him like she’s a puppy herself. (she’s three so she’s not too far from puppyhood, actually) It’s great, other than her reverting to her own piddling on the floor whenever he does. Grr. Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve had puppies before but this one is STUBBORN!
I’ll get back to kink stuff and deep emotional stuff soon but, until then…
Here he is about a week ago. I dare you not to fall in love.

Now I just need to figure out how to tell Miss Dazey (the beagle) that he’s not going to stay this small….

I drink a lot of coffee, ride a motorcycle, have an 18 year old son and a decade long relationship that began in a chat room.

Oh, how sweet. Sorry about all the clean-up, but i bet it’s worth it for puppy kisses and puppy breath. Enjoy him!!!
CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE.. He’s perfect. I love him. Look at those eyes. That’s the face he makes when he breaks stuff and shits on the floor isn’t it?
LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want a new puppy…
Adorable!!! i want a puppy!
Oh my….what a little yummy! I am on my third Rottie, her name is Nala. The key to rotties is this…you MUST be their Alpha dog, make them submit(rollover, belly up)when you catch them doing something they shouldn’t. Take him out every half hour to do his business. You will catch him doing it outside then praise the hell out of him. He’ll get it in a few days. And take lots and lots of pictures!! They grow up WAY too fast! Sigh….I wish Nala was that little again!
He is ADORABLE!!!!
Oh, and the puppy is cute too. :D
Kitten – You BET that’s the face he makes when he’s busted. The little monster! Lol
Cutie – Thank you! I’ve been trying to get him out every hour and we’re using the crate to help cuz he won’t go in there but he’s a sneaky little devil. I’ll have to try the every half hour thing. Thank you, thank you! :)
Very cute puppy.
Anybody know what happened to Kaya at Under His Hand?
I was wondering about Kaya as well. If you speak to her Carrie – please pass along my best wishes. I am a long time reader of you both and I hope she is getting what she wants. You are both enthralling.
Cute puppy by the way – gotta love the doggies.
I know Kaya has some personal stuff going on and warned me she may be quiet for a bit. As far as I know she and her Master are doing fine – they’re just working out some family stuff.
I’ll certainly pass on good wishes and concern next time I talk to her.
xoxo

The best success I’ve had with housetraining involved crating the lil’ monster during the day and taking her outside every 30-45 min. in the evening, telling her to “go potty” and rewarding her when she did. Any accidents I used the Big Mommy voice and told her she was Very Bad. I also keep an area in the laundry room for emergencies, for both her and the other doxie, because they have such tiny and delicate bladders. Ha! They are brats.
I have a rottie mix. He’s a doofus. Lovable, but a doofus.
Yeah for puppies.. :) Stubborn little monsters hate to potty train. Mine is a pit mix and the softest personality, but when he gets stubborn… he gets STUBBORN!
Here is what worked for me.. when my guy was not in the crate.. he was leashed to me. This also helps with bonding and with establishing rank. He cannot go anywhere that you don’t let him.
After he wakes up.. potty break
after he plays… potty break
the playing gets their system moving and makes them have to go.
after he eats… potty break
We also set up a potty spot in the house that we moved closer and closer to the door.
It took us about 2.5 months to get our little monster fully accident proof and using the dog door to go in and out reliably.
