I wanted to post the pic I want to make into a LOLcat (LOLMaster?) where He looks so completely unamused. It would say, "Unamused Master is unamused." He didn't find it funny.

I did. LOL.

I just got this in my inbox and thought you might want to check it out for comparison purposes: http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4483582&SRCCODE=COMEM299C&cm_mmc=EML-_-Main-_-COMEM299-_-special

It's not an eeepc but it is a pretty sweet looking netbook at a great price.

Hehehe.

I'm sorry! (Ok, not really. I looooove the bike. Or will... once I learn to ride it. But, yanno, I felt the need to apologize on Taylor's behalf for annoying dominant and masterly types everywhere :p )

M says Taylor committed a serious sin by buying you your own bike. Cause now I won't leave Him alone about us getting one.

Just wanted to let you know. *grin*

I don't actually make the sauce from scratch...

We just doctor it a little. Heh.

Taylor likes the KC Masterpiece sauce so I start with a bottle or two of that and add slices of lemon, lime and orange. Let it simmer for a few hours until the fruit is all wilted and weird looking, then take it out and use the sauce on the meat.

It's freaking fantastic! Makes the sauce taste homemade, tenderizes the meat, adds a bit of tang but is amazingly not too sour or acidic. It's really good.

First time I saw Taylor's mom do it I thought she was nuts and was going to ruin my ribs. I've been doing it ever since. Nom! :)

The eee's are sounding pretty good. I'm going to need something portable for work; if for nothing else than to get me away from my desk a few hours a day and enable some privacy and uninterrupted time! I don't need full laptop or pc funcionality, just the ability to write blogs and whatnot, use messengers, check email and websites.

So. Yeah. I'm shopping.

Y'all keep the advice coming please! :)

I just bought the eee1000HE and so far, I like it. And actually, it's got more power than my main laptop which I've been using exclusively for the last year. The smaller keyboard is taking some getting used to. The touchpad is bugging the crap out of me though. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it's just not as precise as my Gateway laptop's. I've been looking for a way to fix it, but with school I just haven't had the time or the ambition. The only other thing that I don't like about it is the case. It's glossy, which means that every time you pick it up you leave smeary finger prints. I'm sure I'll figure out a workaround for that too, but for now it just makes my little OCD tendencies twitch.

The thing that I LOVE about it? 9ish hours of batter life!!! I was going back and forth between the HE and the newer one, which is super slim and very pretty looking. But, the newer one only has 6ish hours of battery life (wtf?) AND the battery is internal and can't be removed or replaced by the user. The touchpad on that one also had weird little bumps on it that I wasn't too keen on.

You haz recipe for BBQ sauce???

I love EEEPCs. My friend has one and let me borrow it for a weekend when I was going out of town. It's fantastic.

Some come with a version of linux, some with windows. The linux version (especially eeebuntu) is probably faster, but might be a bit confusing if you've not used linux before. The GUI (graphical user interface) is pretty, doing updates is fast and easy and eeebuntu has lots of installable software available for free.

The keyboard is smaller, but you do get used to it. If you have particularly large hands, it 's just going to be a bit of a pain. The touchpad is decent for short term use, but you'd want to get a USB wireless mouse to go with it if you plan on using it for lots of surfing.

Like most laptops/pcs, look for the best bang for your buck. The fastest processor and the most amount of ram you can afford without it being ridiculous. You shouldn't need a huge hard drive since it's not built for heavy programs and data storage and you can always buy a usb hard drive to plug in if you need more space. It's really mostly built for surfing and chatting and perhaps a bit of typing. I wouldn't want one for my main computer, but it makes for a very portable and eee experience.

You might want to check pricing and such against other netbooks. I've seen some nice competitors with windows installed that might be a better fit for you.
