The question was asked on a FetLife group today “What skills (attitudes, attributes) does it take to effectively submit?”

My brain stumbled for a minute and the only thing I could come up with was that it doesn’t necessarily take any skills to submit, just the desire to do so.

For me, this is true.

Certain skills and attributes make me better at certain aspects of it.

But when it comes right down to it?  The thing that keeps me submitting most effectively is my desire to do so.

Do I want to suck his dick when he’s sweaty and unshowered and just got off the toilet? Not really. But I want to submit.

Do I want to take off his stinky socks for him when they’re wet and nasty and make me want to vomit? Nope. But I want to submit.

Do I want to make room in our budget for him to have an extra bit of cash to go out with the boys when I’m stretched tight with bills and food as it is?  Hell no. But I want to submit.

I want the dynamic. I want him to be the boss of me. I want to have the lesser amount of power when it comes to our relationship.

My desire to be the submissive partner is the most important part of submitting effectively for me.

If I didn’t have that desire all the rest would eventually fall apart.
