“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw, “I just wanted to be sure of you.”
Well…
It’s been a very odd couple of weeks.
My brother and his wife have separated. Not sure if it’s permanent or not; I guess it all depends upon whether his wife is willing to make some changes.
My other brother and his fiance have separated. Of course, they’ve been off again, on again for about twenty years so…
Who knows what will happen.
Both of the women involved with my brothers have loads of emotional baggage and more issues than People Magazine so I’m not exactly crying my eyes out. I’d love to see both my brothers happy with the women they love but I’d rather see them alone than hurting because of those women.
Taylor and I also had a bit of a break. Seems to have been the month for it. Fortunately we’ve talked things out some, renegotiated our relationship some and decided to keep working at it.
I do wonder, lately, if the traditional seven year itch hasn’t turned into a five year itch. I mean, with internet and cell phones and all the other faster advancements in the world…. whose to say everything else hasn’t speeded up too?
Regardless…
I’m wide awake and looking at life differently all of a sudden.
Amazing how that happens when it all gets turned upside down for a little bit.
I am thankful…
So very, very thankful…
For the love Taylor and I share and the fact that we’re willing and able to work things out instead of giving up.
I like being sure of him.
Of us.
