I haz questions

For you guys, this time!

How many of you read blogs in a feed reader? If it’s a summary view, do you go visit the actual blog? Or skip it?

How about on the front page of the blog itself – Do y’all prefer full posts? Or summaries so you can see more posts at once?

I just dunno what to dooooooo.

  1. I read blogs through my reader. If it’s a summary I do go to the actual page and if I want to comment I go to the page. I don’t care if a blog has full posts or summaries on the front page. Obviously if they have summaries, it breaks things down a lot more.

  2. I use a reader, I really, really prefer full views. I (sorry to admit) will sometimes skip the summaries. I follow a lot of blogs and simply don’t have the time to click to every page.
Front page of the blog- I prefer full posts. I just don’t care for summaries in general. :)

  3. i have all the blogs i read regularly in my google reader. Depending on where i am, the amount of time i have i will read what i can through the reader then check out the actual blog when i have time at home. So i guess i do both, use the reader and go to the actual blog. Going to the blog i gets to read all the lovely comments as well.

  4. I’m lazy I have mine bookmarked on my blog. When I go do stuff on the blog I will normally catch up on bloggy friends posts and blogs I follow. Since I added the subscribe via reader thingymajigget people do use it so I know that works well.

As for the summary bits, I tend not to bother I want the full post there on the blog. I’m quirky like that. Are you goin through a “change mah blog” phase? *chuckle*

  5. Ok.

Most of you feel the same way I do, I think. Summaries suck and I only click thru if I REALLY like the blog/blogger.

    So. Back to full feeds.

Hopefully with the change to feedburner (my WP feed went wonky) everyone is still getting their updates. :)

  6. I don’t use feeds. I have a bookmark called “daily” in my Firefox browser. When I bookmark a link I want to read again, I choose “Daily”. Then, each morning, I click the middle button on my mouse while on that “daily” in my bookmark and it brings up ALL my “dailies”. (Yours is there :))

It takes a few minutes to load but I’m on the actual page for all my blogs/pages.

    I really don’t like feeds.

  7. Just another opinion, FULL VIEWS!!! I love your site. But I want to read your posts through my reader. If I have a comment then I WILL go to your site and comment. But I am MUCH more likely to read you if you give me full content.

  8. I read in a feed reader (Google Reader) and if the blog only allows brief “excerpts” it’s pretty hit-or-miss as to whether I click through. That little blurb has to be mighty entertaining!

I always click through if I want to leave a comment, of course, even if the feed is long-view.

For me, though, I rarely have time to *find* content – life is busy – so I love that I can keep up with most people via RSS.
