Ideal? Meh.

So it’s a definite.  I’m not a massager type of gal.

I’ve tried many; from the Hitachi to the Fairy wand, from those purchased at Walmart to adult stores.  Each and every one of them is just too strong for me. So strong, in fact, that they make me feel numb in a painful way and, hence, make me want to toss them out the window.

Just because I don’t like them, however, doesn’t mean they aren’t great sex toys.  I can fully understand why many women love them. They give intense vibrations over a large area, are easy to manipulate, easy to keep clean and look as innocuous as can be – after all, they’re body massagers, too.  No need to be embarrassed if you leave it out, you can claim sore muscles as your reason.

The Ideal is a bit different from other wand type massagers in that it has an oscillating motor and an ergonomic body.  This makes it easy, easy, easy to grip and position, no matter where you’re using it and means the vibrations are a little different than what you may be used to.

Like many other wand massagers, the Ideal is ABS plastic with a spring loaded head that is also ABS.  It is a matte plastic but has no real texture, just a wee bit of drag against the skin.  Any lube can be used with these and they can be cleaned with a soapy cloth, toy cleaner or a mild bleach solution.

The Ideal has two different settings, high and low, easily adjusted with a switch on it’s handle.  It’s a rechargeable vibrator, so you plug it in to charge, unplug to use it.  The Ideal cannot be overcharged so it’s best to always leave it plugged in when not in use, ensuring a full charge and a full hours use the next time you want to give it a whirl.

Overall, the Ideal is on par with most of these types of toys.  It has some areas where it’s nicer – the recharge ability and ergonomic handle, for instance but it also has some areas where it falls short of others.  Many people prefer the squishier head of the Hitachi, for example.

In general, it’s a freaking powerhouse that is sure to do it for those of you who love power.  For me, it was just too, too much.

It’s a large toy, at 12 inches total length with a 7.5 inch circumference head.  It’s also, to go along with its strength, quite loud.  Pressing it against your body quiets it some, but it’s never going to be called discreet when it comes to noise level!
