Jimmyjane Contour I, Q and M

relaxedI love massages.  They don’t even have to be good massages.  I’m happy just to be rubbed and petted.  Taylor loves massages, too.  He, however, isn’t so fond of petting and likes to be kneaded and really rubbed down.

The problem?  We both have bad hands.  He has arthritis and I have badly repaired ligaments in both my thumbs which effects my hand and wrist strength.  This means we both pretty much suck at massaging.

We needed massagers of some sort and the vibrating kind just don’t work for me since they make me itch.

Enter Jimmyjane and their fabulous Contour Stones.  Each of these stones are made from smoothly glazed ceramic and are shaped to create unique sensations with very little effort.  Each of them are excellent for temperature play; cool them down in some cold water or ice for a stimulating massage in the heat of summer or warm them up in a bowl of hot water for deep, soothing muscle relaxation.  They hold temperature well, rather like a coffee mug and transfer it nicely.

contour m 1The Contour M is, as the name implies, an “M” shaped stone.  It is domed at the top to fit nearly perfectly in the palm of the hand with four pressure points.  The pressure points are rounded and blunt, meaning they don’t dig in painfully or feel pokey unless you really put a lot into it.

It’s quite easy to determine how much pressure you are using based upon the reaction of the person you are massaging’s skin, as well as the drag of the stone itself.

The Contour M can be rubbed gently across broad surfaces like the back, allowing all four pressure points to lightly knead the skin and muscle or you can use individual points to really dig in.  You can also use it to “roll” the other stones along the skin, as it works as a cradle of sorts.

I’ve found the M to be best for back, buttocks and thighs, areas that are a bit more fleshy or muscled.  Bony areas or areas that aren’t broad enough to get even pressure don’t work as well with this stone.

contour IThe Contour I, as its name also implies, is shaped rather like the letter “I”.  Or like a dumbell.  Narrow in the middle with two rounded, bulbous ends, it also works excellently for large, broad surfaces like back and bottom if you roll it horizontally along the body.  It’s quite versatile, however, in that you can also use it vertically, using the rounded ends to knead and dig deep into the tissue.

I found this as easy to use as the M, easy to tell how much pressure I was exerting by the dimpling of the skin underneath and the ease of its glide.  Too much pressure and it begins to move less easily.

My favorite thing about the I is how smoothly and easily it rolls, especially with the addition of some massage lotion or oil or by using the M as its cradle.  Of the three, it really is the most simplistic and easy to use and can be rolled along the back with so little effort that you can give long, lingering, deep massages that don’t leave you with cramps in your own hands when you’re done.

The only problem with the I is that, for the receiver, it can get a little boring if you don’t change up the sensations a bit.  (This is the major reason I refused to get these until I could get all three!)

contour qThe Contour Q is actually a set of seashell shaped stones; one with ridges, the other with bumps.  They’re quite tiny and very, very cute.  Each texture provides a slightly different sensation.  The ridges are a bit more gentle than the bumps but, like all the stones, the sensation can be adjusted by the amount of pressure and the technique you use.

I like the nubby one rolled very slowly and softly across my skin so I can feel each bump where as the ridged one feels best rolled more quickly and smoothly.

The Q stones can be used in the palm of the hand, rolled along the skin so you feel the textures or they can be used, as the other two, with their pointed but blunt ends to dig in and really apply some pressure to the muscles.  Because of their small size, they work really well  - really well! – on smaller body parts.  Arms, calves, hands, feet.  They’re also a little more conducive to erotic teasing, due to their small size and interesting textures.

As the image shows above, it’s even easy to use these on yourself.  Roll your foot over a stone or roll one between your hands for an excellent easing of tension – no masseuse needed!

contour 1 4All three of the stones come packaged in Jimmyjane’s traditional elegant and discreet packaging.  Nothing about these screams that you bought them in a sex toy shop and you can, indeed, find them in high end retail stores all over the country.

The boxes are small, white and gray, with an image of the product on the packaging.  Each also has a small guide with suggestions for use included.

The Contour M measures 3″ by 3″ by 2.5″.  The I measures 5.5″ by 1.5.  The Q’s, the smallest, are a palm sized 2.5″ by 1.75″.  All can be washed with soap and water, tucked in the dishwasher or even bleached using a mild, 10% solution.  All three can be used with oils, lotions, massage candles, silicone lube (makes a great massage tool, especially in the bath) or on dry skin.

These are, by far, the niftiest product I’ve purchased in awhile, with numerous ways to be used – together or alone, for sensual, practical or erotic use.  Use your imagination and simply enjoy.

guideJimmyjane does have a great guide for each stone if you need suggestions – click the image to make it bigger.   There’s no “set” way to use these, however, so just experiment.  They work best, to me, used together, with the M as a cradle for the other stones – though they can be a little distracting used this way as you hear the sound of the ceramic rolling inside the ceramic.  Possibly too noisy for some, especially for deep, relaxing massages or erotic use.  Still, they work silently solo and you can change up for different sensations.

They feel good, they keep the hands from getting as tired, they look gorgeous with their glossy, milky white finish and, at least for us, they’ve meant a LOT more massages in our lives!
