I’m not generally a huge fan of K-y products, I’ll be honest. However, I have tried the 2 – in – 1 warming and tingling massage oil and lubes before and I like them quite a bit. I’ve also tried the K-y Touch foot massage lotion (which I think is discontinued) and enjoyed it, too. So when I had the chance, thanks to Adam & Eve, to try this K-y Touch Massage sample pack, I jumped on it.
Massage oils – and lubes and lotions and potions of all sorts – are my thing, as we all know by now. :)
The verdict?
The Sample Pack is nice. It’s not the best massage product I’ve ever tried and it is mineral oil based, so it’s not something I’d use often since mineral oil / petroleum oil based products tend to make me break out and don’t allow the skin to breath, but it’s nice.
In the pack you get 6 small, .5 ounce bottles of massage oil. The bottles are plastic with flip open covers that prevent leaks fairly well. (I’d pack them in a ziploc, however, if traveling with them, just in case) You get 4 K-y Touch warming oils, a non warming oil and a 2-in1 warming lube/body massage oil.
The warming oils are Malibu Sunrise, Bali Moonlight, Paris Twilight and Fireside. The Sunrise and Fireside are both warm scents, the Moonlight and Twilight a bit cooler and sweeter. I don’t notice a lot of warming but as you massage and rub them in, the friction combined with the warming properties does create a comfortable level of heat that feels good and is more warm than the non warming oil. The non warming is Secret Grove scent and, as you’d expect, it’s a greenish scent and probably the one most suitable for anyone. It and the Bali Moonlight are the least feminine of the oils.
One really excellent point about the scents is that they blend well — so if you use Secret Grove on your partner and they use Malibu Sunrise on you, the scents don’t clash and create a stink. Each is really quite softly scented, lingering on the skin and in the air a bit but not enough to be obnoxious or over-powering.
The 2-in1 massage oil and personal lubricant is warming with a glycerin base. It’s unscented and the only one of the six that is suitable for internal use. It can get a bit sticky for massage and the glycerin may bother those with sensitivities but it’s a decent choice for a 2-in1 product. One of my favorites, actually, as it seems slicker, thinner and less sticky than flavored glycerin based massage products.
Overall, the K-y Touch Massage 6-pack is an excellent way to try out the different scents without committing to having a large bottle of an unwanted scent lying around. They’re great for variety; a walk in the Bali moonlight one night, Paris twilight the next. They absorb fairly well and reduce friction enough to give a decent, fairly long lasting massage. If the mineral oil (same base as baby oil, for those who don’t know the difference, as opposed to, say, Neutrogena Bath oil, which is a sesame oil base) doesn’t bother you, they’re actually quite excellent. The small bottles give much more bang for your buck than you’d expect, each providing at leasst 3-4 back massages, 2-3 full body massages.
Remember that oil is not compatible with latex so don’t use these along with a latex condom — it’s not safe! They can also break down the latex in some sex toys, so use caution there, as well. To be totally safe, use them for massage — or even male masturbation — but keep away from the vagina.
All 6 products wash away easily from the body with soap and warm water, use hot water to clean up any spills on fabric when you toss it in the machine.
Thanks, again, to Adam & Eve for letting me give this a shot. Much as I’m not a huge fan of non “natural” oils I really did enjoy this, particularly the Sunrise and Moonlight scents. The variety alone makes it well worth purchasing more.
