This is why I’m glad I’m not really “attached” to any specific company or anything. I like being able to say whatever I want.

Course, it tends to make enemies. That whole “no disagreeing” thing. So perhaps you’re better off. :)

I… of course, completely get this. :) Censorship sucks, especially self-censorship towards the end of not trying to make anybody unhappy at all because they see you as a representative of the company you work for. All. The. Time.

That person who called you unprofessional, on a Saturday, while twittering from your personal account… should be subjected to the same kind of standards. Do we get to tell that person’s employer about what they do on a Saturday?

Fucking. Ridiculous.

Just add a disclaimer before anything you say that says “these are my opinions, and my opinions alone. The company I work for and the other people who work there do not necessarily share these opinions.”

I’ve been biting my tongue a lot lately too, at least as far as most things go. There was one thing recently that I couldn’t bite my tongue about though. It felt good to let it all out, regardless of what it made me look like. Sometimes it’s healthy to have an outlet and just speak up about what’s irritating.

The internet does seem.. a bit sensitive lately. There’s been so much drama going on and really.. it’s pointless drama at that. So much arguing over semantics and not issues and just crap that I have very little interest in because it makes most people (friend or foe) seem pretty ridiculous. So maybe you’re quiet but I don’t mind. At least you’re not another person I need to ignore because they’re being obnoxious.

Aww Carrie Ann, how we’ve missed you. People are just too self involved. Seriously. When they argue because you post something they took personally, what does that say? Umm…you never *said* you were talking about them right? So, they have no reason to be upset. But you are correct, people look for a reason to be angry and insulted, and they aren’t happy unless they’re unhappy with someone. Oh well. Not your problem right?

Ok, well, I guess it could be if they run to your boss like my 5 year old runs to me to tattle on her sister. That’s a whole separate post though.

See, this is why I’ve missed you. I’d hate to feel like you do, like I couldn’t say what I wanted because of a job. I think you should be allowed to say what you like as long as it’s your opinion and you aren’t calling people names or otherwise insulting a person. I try to express myself without making an argument personal if I can, because even if the person does bother me, I’m usually just wanting to put my view out there on the issue, not my view on the person. It’s hard, but I hope I come across more clearly that way. *sigh* I hope things get better.

And that’s what scares me about working for a sex toy, or sex related, company: That I’ll have to censor myself. Not that I have any offers to work for one, but I had tried to get my foot in the door at a couple places when I was unemployed.

I’m just tired of the whole “everything is offensive” crap. I was actually accused (indirectly) of fat hatred because I said that some fat people just need to get off the fat asses to lose weight in my body image post. Yeah, I hate fatties. No, I just spoke the truth and somebody didn’t like it. Boo-fuckety-hoo. So now I’m a fatty hater. Woot!

Whoops, I went on a rant. Sorry! You’re awesome, btw. Just sayin.’
