I am oddly on the fence about the Pure Plug 2.0.  I was super excited to get it, since it’s quite a bit larger than the Pure Plug Large or the Pfun plugs I have and about the same size as the Cyberglass Perfect P-spot.  I figured it would be nicely filling like the CPP – the only place the other Njoy plugs are lacking, since I really enjoy a full sensation – and yet would have the nice Njoy handle as opposed to the round handle of the CPP.  And, you know, it’s Njoy.  It’s got to be awesome.

And it is.  It’s all that I expected but somehow leaves me a little underwhelmed.

Maybe it’s just been a bad ass month for me.  (You know, like a bad ass day times 30) Maybe it’s just not different enough to feel new and exciting.  I dunno.

Let’s start with the basics.  The Pure Plug 2.0 is large and in charge.  The Pure Plug Large looks absolutely miniscule sitting next to it.  The pictures can’t even do it justice.  It’s a whopping 1.75 inches in diameter (5.5″ circumference) with an insertable length of 3.75 inches.  It’s topped off with an inch of oval handle that is pleasant when sitting with the plug in – though quite a bit bitter than the handle on the other Njoy plugs – and still easy to use to pull the plug out and effective as a flared base.

The head is very slightly tapered but doesn’t give the appearance of being pointy.  It’s just enough of a “tip” that insertion is fairly easy.  It’s also far less of a stretch than the CPP and this baffled me at first, since the diameter is the same on both.  Don’t get me wrong.  It’s a stretch.  It’s a big, heavy plug, weighing in at just over a pound.  It is NOT for beginners, by any means.  It takes a good amount of lube and patience to get it inserted.

After comparing the two – the CPP and the PP 2.0 - side by side and really looking at them, I realized that the reason the Pure Plug 2.0 doesn’t seem as large is due to its shape.  The head is not round like the head on the CPP.  It’s much more oval shaped, meaning you get the diameter spread out in two different directions instead of being as wide across.  The stretch is spread out between side to side and top to bottom rather than being all side to side.

For most, this would be a good thing, because it makes a very large, heavy plug a lot more manageable.  For me, I kind of missed the more extreme width.

It’s still a great plug and quite big.  It just doesn’t feel as big as I expected it to because of this design.  Probably a great thing for most!  It’s also got divets in the head.  Little, pad of the thumb sized divets in the metal that serve a few purposes.  First, they reduce the weight of the plug a bit.  It would be a lot heavier if these three divets were totally filled with metal.  Second, they also aid in insertion, aid in the “oval” effect and keeping the stretch of the anus to a minimum for the size of the plug.

I’m not sure I’m describing this very well.  It makes sense in my head and when I look at it but I’m not great at making what I see real with words.

To sum up the basics, the PP 2.0 is large, heavy but designed to insert far more easily than you expect it to.  It’s gorgeous, shiny stainless steel without a single flaw, dent or machine mark to mar it’s surface.  You can literally see yourself in it.  The handle is comfy, the shaft tapers down really nicely – going from around an inch where it meets the head to quite slim where it meets the handle, probably half an inch or less.

It’s comfortable to wear, even to sit in, though the smaller pure plugs are more so.  It stays in well when moving around even though it’s really heavy.  You can feel the weight inside you but never get any sensation like it’s going to fall out.  At least I didn’t.  It does sometimes want to push out with double penetration since there’s just not all that much room once it’s in for a penis or a dildo in the vagina but I’ve never had it actually come all the way out.

It’s a bit too big for that, me thinks!

The stainless steel material means you can use any lube you like and can clean it easily.  A simple wash in soap and water is pretty much fine since steel doesn’t hold bacteria, being non porous. If you really want sanitize it, you can use a mild bleach solution or boil it for a few minutes.  Don’t use abrasive cleaners, however, since they can mar the surface and create places for bacteria to cling.

The steel is awesome for temperature play, as well.  Chill it in cold water or the fridge, warm it in warm water, whatever your body prefers.  I like to start with it chilled and feel its temperature rise to that of my body temperature – which feels quite HOT when you remove it.

Do me a favor and do NOT freeze this baby or put it in the microwave though, okay?  Extreme temperatures can damage tender tissues and metal will kill your microwave.

Like all Njoy toys, the Pure Plug 2.0 comes packaged in a heavy, elegant and discreet black storage box. The inside is lined with gathered satin, a hollow formed to the shape of the toy to hold it in place.  Very nice presentation, whether you’re gifting or just storing.

For the most part, I really like this plug.  It’s one of my favorite sex toys, despite being a bit underwhelmed.  Definitely in the top ten.  It gives me the full sensation I crave – which the smaller Pure Plugs don’t really do – and the stretch I like with penetration.  I don’t like it for use during vaginal intercourse, however, since it is so large it makes things unpleasantly tight.

Also unlike the other Njoy plugs, the 2.0 gives me a LOT of g-spot stimulation when worn with the curve toward the front.  I really like wearing it and stimulating my clit at the same time.  It’s like sensation overload, in the best way.  Worn facing back you get less g-spot distraction and make double penetration a little bit easier though, truly, it’s not for a novice.
