Not so much?

Not so much?

So the kid went out with a neighbor boy to try to make some money shoveling.
Do people actually pay kids to shovel these days?

He’s been gone two hours so either he’s found at least one person or they’ve decided to play instead.

Probably out there building snowmen with penises.
They’re about that age.
(I know this because my brothers did it)

We don’t seem to be getting near the snow they said we would here in West Allis.
How about the rest of you?

Taylor worked for five hours or so and is home again. They’re going to go back out this afternoon/evening when the snow ends and will likely be out awhile then.
I guess the guy he’s working for decided it was stupid to plow everything two or three times, better to get some rest and do it all in one shot when it stopped snowing.
I think they did the businesses that were open and that was it.

Cool for Taylor, sucky for me.
Why, you ask?

Cuz I started a pork roast in the slow cooker last night at midnight, figuring he’d be straggling in around noon or one today, half starved.
Now it’s nearly done and he’s…

Sleeping.

I just hope it doesn’t get over done sitting in there longer.
There’s lots of juice so it’s not like it’ll dry out but it’ll likely be nearly shredded by the time we get around to eating it.

And I’m starving!
I’ve been smelling this thing for hours and hours and hours and hours.

Now I know how Doogee feels with the turkey soup!

Not much else goin’ on.
The furnace guy just left. Lucky for us he came out on a day like this.
We’ve had nothing but problems with this furnace since we moved in.
In fact, we had to have the guy out the very weekend we moved cuz it was cold and we had no heat.
We tried to tell the landlord to just get a new furnace.
I mean… there’s a sticker on the one we have with all the service dates on it and the first one goes back to 1995. That means it was likely five to ten years old before it was serviced cuz most furnaces don’t need servicing before then. It may even have been older.
Either way, it’s at least 15 – 18 years old, probably closer to 20 – 23.
Time for a new one, damn it.
We’ve had to have it serviced five times since we moved in 10 months ago.
It would definitely have been cheaper for him to just get a new one in the first place!

Ah well. At least we have heat again now – for however long it lasts.
Luckily the flat retains heat fairly well so long as it’s not too cold outside.
I can run the dryer or turn the oven on for a bit to warm things up and it rarely drops below 64 degrees in here but, still, it’s been a pain in the ass.

I guess that’s it for now.
I’m wanting a fresh cup of coffee but my damned Folgers is tasting even worse than normal the past couple days so I can’t even get inspired to make more.

Gods, I want a caramel macchiato from Starbucks.
Hell, I’d be happy with a drip.
From anywhere decent.

*sigh*
