Oh Gallant Knight…

For a bit of fun, anyhow. I can’t say that I’d marry it and live happily ever after in the blue vibrator palace but, yanno, I’d let it ravish me a time or two.

I think we all know, by now, that I’m a huge fan of Fun Factory sex toys. The Gallan, like the other vibes I own from the G2 line, is thick, beefy, firm yet squishy matte silicone with a unique texture to distinguish it from the others.

Completely covered in waves of ridges, the Gallan has a texture that is utterly noticeable but isn’t super raised or extreme. Each wave can be felt in delicious detail but isn’t enough to feel uncomfortable or painful like some of the more highly textured toys out there.

The head is slightly tapered, the shaft slightly curved and graduated in thickness; the further you slide it in, the thicker it gets, maxing out at a nice, thick 1.5 inch diameter. The shaft has 6 insertable inches (so it’s a little shorter than some of the G2 vibes) with another inch or two of added length in the battery compartment and dial.

Fun Factory uses a really nice silicone that manages to have plenty of firmness for ease of insertion and rapid thrusting while still remaining soft, velvety and kind of squishy. I can squeeze it in my hand and it has plenty of give, I can bend it enough to reach all the spots I’m looking to reach but it isn’t at all floppy.

Vibrations are controlled thru a dial on the battery compartment that is fairly easy to turn and range from a very low hum to a deep, fast buzz. I’ve found that the Gallan is plenty strong but the thick, dense silicone can make it feel less so to those who like high pitched, surface vibrations. Vibes travel the length of the shaft but are most concentrated in the center of the toy; if you’re looking for pinpoint clitoral stimulation, they travel well enough to the tip to be felt quite intensely but they aren’t focused there. The dial control is what Fun Factory calls “infinitely adjustable” in that, as you spin it, it goes from low to high and then back down again in a full circle, with a small, single stop space for off. I love these dials as they allow for fairly precise control of the vibrations I want.

The Gallan runs on two AA batteries, inserted one up, one down, in the splash-proof battery compartment. A lot of folks complain about this style battery compartment as they’re not always easy to remove. I have no problems but it takes a good, firm squeeze on either side of the light grey area and the top pops right off with a audible click. (I did a video a bit back for the Gigolo, another similar vibrator, that shows the process)

I’ve got to say I highly recommend the Gallan for anyone who likes deep vibrations, a bit of girth, light texture and the ability to stimulate either g-spot or clitoris. I’d have a hard time choosing a favorite between the 3 Fun Factory large style vibes I own – every one of them is terrific – but the Gallan is probably best for beginners. The tapered girth, subtle texture and shorter length make it non-threatening and easy to use. Not, of course, that we advanced and often jaded types won’t like it, too. I obviously do. :)

Because the Gallant is a silicone toy it can be sterilized with a ten percent bleach solution if you’re going to share it or use it for both anal and vaginal play. (Use care with anal play and the Gallan. It’s thicker at the bottom but doesn’t have a true flared base so is not really safe) If not, just a good wash with soap and warm water will do ya.

Use only water based lube to keep the toy in good condition, since silicone and oil based lubes can react with the silicone of the toy.
