Ooh la… um… huh?
I’m about ready to give up on rabbit vibrators. I really am. I have a couple that work for me – the Ina and Melody – and my luck at finding more seems to have run out.
I was excited when I ordered the Ooh la la rabbit. It’s silicone. The shaft is shortish, which is important to me as I have a shallow vagina and with a long shaft, the clitoral stimulator never hits my clit since I can’t insert it far enough to be anywhere near the lower part of the shaft where the clit stimulators are located. (The toy in total is 9 inches but the insertable bit is only 5) It also has a longish clit stimulator with the traditional rabbit ears but no goofy face – which I was SURE was going to reach my clit perfectly. It’s thickish, with its 1.5″ diameter and covered with blunt, round nubs that looked intriguing and like they’d be enough for the lack of shaft rotation.
Turns out my expectations got the best of me again.
First of all, I was inattentive and didn’t check to see what sort of batteries this thing takes. It looks like a typical rabbit vibe battery compartment so I was expecting it to take a few AA’s. Imagine the look on my face when I got it open and realized it takes a… 9 volt. SERIOUSLY. A freaking 9 volt.
I blinked a lot when I saw this and then, regaining control over my thoughts, promptly went to steal the one out of the smoke detector to test it out. Someone had beaten me to it, though, and I had to paw thru drawers and masses of old electronic stuff until I finally found the battery in a tazer. (And yes, I did yell at Taylor later for not having put it back in the smoke detector!)
After sliding off the plastic battery compartment door and putting the 9 volt battery inside it’s chamber, feeling very 1984 as I did so, I immediately turned this baby up to it’s highest setting.
Hmm. Seemed strong enough, if a bit loud. Vibrations from the shaft were rumbly in my hand, which is always a plus since I like deeper vibrations and I could see the rabbit ears moving and the bullet in the clit stimulator seemed plenty strong, though a bit buzzy…
And yet…
When I went to use it, I was disappointed. It felt good. The nubs are soft and not intrusive, just stimulating. The shaft vibrates nicely and feels really good; filling, textured, bendable enough for me to hit my g-spot.
But the clit stimulator was altogether full of fail.
It’s simply too buzzy and not nearly strong enough. I figured it was the old battery so I promptly put it back in the smoke detector and bought some new ones when I was next out. Unfortunately it wasn’t the old battery. Even a new battery didn’t make the clitoral stimulator strong enough to do it for me.
The rabbit is bendable so you can press down and get plenty of pressure but the vibrations just aren’t full of enough oomph and are too surfacey, too high frequency, to feel good to me. It left me frustrated, despite how good the internal portion felt.
Controls for the Ooh la la Rabbit are on the battery compartment; an “Auto” button that randomly scrolls thru the different patterns as well as steady vibes, an “Off” button that turns it off as well as six “F” buttons. F1 is high steady vibes, F2 is low steady vibes. F3 – F6 are different yet typical patterns; escalations, pulsations, roller coasters. A band of 6 red lights rims the upper part of the plastic battery compartment/shaft which burn steadily during steady vibrations and flash during patterns.
The Ooh la la isn’t a waterproof sex toy so wash carefully with soap and water or a soapy cloth, sanitize with a bleach solution. Use only water based lube.
It did come in a nifty package; a plastic tube covered with a cardboard tube that lifts off, the rabbit taking up half the plastic tube, a cute, pink, fuzzy on one side, satin on the other blindfold/sleepmask on the other. It also comes with a “do not disturb” door sign – very cute – and some neat round cards with scenarios and suggestions for spicing up your fun time. Primarily marketed for the less kinky, they’re cute and probably useful for those who, unlike us reviewers, are less inclined to gab about sex toys and sex half the day.
This toy might be good for someone with a very sensitive clit but, overall, it just didn’t do it for me. :(

I think this is the first time I’ve ever heard of a sex toy that uses a 9-volt battery! Can’t say this one would do me any good either though, because rabbit vibes hate me. I gave up on them after the Rosebud.
I’ve found the Lucid Dream 26 by Doc Johnson to be a great rabbit style toy. It’s insert-able length is about four inches and it vibrates internally and externally at three different speeds. I prefer to use the clitoral stimulator on low and the internal on high. here’s a link http://www.vitasprings.com/lucid-dream-26-white-doc-johnson.html
