Original Toi Bocks

So the other day I reviewed the Toi Tissue Bocks and it’s pretty obvious that I love it. Today? It’s the Original Toi Bocks and I’ll let you know, right from the start, that I love it even more.

Like the Tissue Bocks, it’s meant to appear discreet and ordinary.  At first glance, it looks like any other jewelry box.  But it’s bigger and meant to hold more, measuring in at 11x7x6.  It’s the same gorgeous cherry colored wood, has the same sleek, mar free finish that inspires you to literally caress the wood each time you touch it but it’s even more useful and full of secrets.  In fact, this wooden box locks in a crazily innovative way.  But more on that later.

Upon opening the hinged lid, it looks just like any jewelry box with it’s red velvet lining and divided tray.  I’ve used the tray to store smaller toys; an Njoy Pure Plug, Pfun Plug, a Lelo Mia, Nea and Bob.  I don’t have small children or folks coming into my bedroom often so I’m not worried about anyone flipping it open and seeing what’s in it.  If you are, however, you can use this tray to hold jewelry, loose change, a few condoms, extra batteries, earbuds… whatever fits, really.

Underneath the tray, however, is a much larger compartment that keeps your private stuff completely hidden.  In fact, if you try to lift the tray up, you can’t.  It’s locked in.

How, you say, when there is no lock on the front of the box or in the tray itself?  Well, that’s a magical secret and I’m not going to share it with you.  If I shared it, it would eventually get out all over the web and anyone could open my box!  Rest assured, though, that instructions and a key come with the box.

Once you unlock it and pull the tray out, as I mentioned, you have a much larger area in which to keep things you’d like to keep private.  It’s not totally secure; a burglar could easily take the whole box with him and figure out how to get into it later so I don’t suggest keeping your life savings or gramma’s entire jewelry collection in there.  You can definitely use it for things other than toys, though.

Me?  I use it for toys.  And while I can’t find my tape measure to give you exact interior dimensions the Toi Bocks site says it’s 10x6x2.5.  I managed to fit a Lelo Elise, Liv, Gigi, Ella and Ina in it, as well as my Pure Wand — so it holds a good bit.  You’re not going to get a bunch of large silicone toys in there but it’s incredible for smaller, more compact and slender things.  I’m actually considering getting another one to lay out some of my glass in a place where I don’t have to keep it all wrapped up in bags I can’t see into.

The interior is as nice as the upper area, lined with smooth, seamless red velvet.  The tray can be a bit difficult to remove — you have to tilt it a bit, pulling the front area up, then the back — but I believe that’s intentional so as to make it harder to get in to and for the lock to work properly.

The Toi Bocks isn’t cheap.  Neither are regular jewelry boxes and they generally don’t lock.  I personally think it’s worth it — and actually bought this, was not given it free to review.  It’s a quality box, made from sturdy materials with an incredible, undetectable locking mechanism.  It’s an exceptionally discreet. luxurious and elegant way to store some of your favorite sex toys, condoms, etc, nearby and close at hand yet securely away from prying eyes.

Clean the Toi Bocks as you would any wood, with Pledge, a Swiffer Duster, lemon oil, a soft cloth.  Don’t use abrasive rags or material on it or you’ll scratch the wood.  Use caution when storing lube in the box as, if it spills, velvet is hard to clean.
