So I’m cruising around FetLife this morning and I’m all blinking at my monitor, making gaping fish faces and pretty much sitting here slack jawed.

Holy hell.

There are a whole lot of people I like on Fet but, for the most part, it’s become a cesspit of retardation.

I read no less than ten posts in my short wanderings over there where someone used the lispy text “twue” or “swave”, usually both in the same sentence.

You know, that “You think there is only one, twue way to do things so I’m going to lisp as I make fun of you because, don’t you see there really IS only one way and it’s mine and that gives me the right to be a cuntlick to you” sort of shit.

Really.  Because the person who makes fun of the person who thinks there is only one way to do things is usually defending their own, opposing way of doing things as if it’s the only right way and feeling, somehow, that this is okay even as they make fun of someone else for doing the same thing.

What the fuck, man?

The whole lisping, making fun of people thing is retarded in general.  Making fun of people when you’re doing the same thing makes it even worse.

How do people not see this?

And then there are the constant battles over protocols.  As if the 250,000 people jabbering on a website are ever going to agree on even one, single, tiny “protocol”, much less a standard for “the lifestyle”.

Three pages of people arguing over whether one should approach a dominant’s submissive before they approach him if they’re looking to get…  anything… from him, be it advice or play or whatever.  THREE pages of people going “well, I was taught this way” and “it’s common courtesy to do it that way” and “oh, no, I was raised in the south and it’s common courtesy to do it this way” and “but I was trained a long, long time ago when protocols were tough and set in stone and you must do it thata way” and “but in my group we do it this way” and…

See?  Patently obvious that it’s never, ever going to be done the same way by more than four people and that you should just shut the fuck up.

And then there’s the person who is like…  ohmigod!…  I have a master and I can’t say no and I can’t leave but what do you do if he takes your ATM card and spends all the money or snorts blow when you don’t like it or lies to you a lot or punishes you by not fucking you anymore…

What we do is SO much different than any other relationship.

You either get the fuck out cuz you made a disastrous choice or you accept it and stay.  And if you decide to accept it and stay you don’t spend the rest of your life bitching and moaning about it cuz it was your own choice, god damn it.
