Rosebud

July 18th, 2010 | by CarrieAnn

I have come to the conclusion that rabbit vibes are not for me.  Sure, there are a few I like but they are the rare occurrence rather than the norm.

The Rosebud looked like it was going to be ideal; short shaft, big clit stimulator, a rotating shaft, no insane beads or discs and previous reviews said it was plenty strong.

But when I got it it was obvious, from the very start, that it was another fail for me.

It was then that I determined it’s because, when using a toy on *just* my clit, I come at it from the top not the bottom.  I like pressure and movement on the upper part of my clitoris and rabbits come at it from the bottom, putting most of the stimulation lower than I like and from the entirely wrong angle.

So, there you have it.  All the rabbits I’ve reviewed?  Are probably awesome.  Just not for me.  And now we know why.

So, speaking objectively because, subjectively, the Rosebud was just another rabbit that didn’t work for me, it’s actually a really nice sex toy.

Made of 100% silicone it’s soft and velvety to the touch, matte, giving you almost that skin on skin feeling when you rub it. The head is firm, with just a little give in the very tip, yet not hard or uncomfortable.  The shaft has an insertable length of 4 inches so it’s plenty long enough to reach the g-spot but not so long it pokes your cervix.  It’s also bulbous, which gives great pressure against the g-spot, especially as it rotates.

The clit stimulator is odd looking – not quite a butterfly, sort of like a mutant butterbeetle with antennae and flappy wings.  Regardless, it’s nicely wide  at 2″ across and 3″ high.  It covers a lot of area and vibrates quite strongly.  The underside is slightly lined/textured but in a soft way, not a hard, nubby, uncomfortable way.  It’s really just enough to add some texture and “rub” feel to it as you use it.

Controls are on the battery compartment, which opens via a little lever on the bottom.  It takes 4 AAA batteries so it’s putting out a good bit of power; plenty to run both clitoral vibe and shaft rotations without any slow down of either.  It also holds up to clenching fairly well.  The rotation is a small circling of just the bulbous head but it goes quite rapidly on high, giving excellent g-spot stimulation.  The controls are slider style; slide the left one up or down to speed up or decrease speed in the shaft rotations, the left one for strength of vibes in the butterbeetle.  Sliding them all the way down turns it off.

Both vibes and rotation are fairly quiet for a dual stimulator though they may be heard thru a closed door if you have no background noise and aren’t under covers.

They do get nudged easily if you start to thrust and can be nudged in storage so remove the batteries before you tuck it away or you may come back to find them dead.

Overall, this is a really good, quality rabbit that is simple enough for anyone to use. No bells and whistles but it’s premium material and that makes up for a lot.  I’m sad it didn’t work for me but glad to finally understand why.

Wash with a wet soapy rag or some toy cleaner, being careful not to get water in the control area since it’s not water resistant at all!  Remember to wipe before and after use, since silicone picks up a lot of dust that you don’t want to be putting inside you.  Use only water based lube, as well, unless you do a patch test first.
