Seeds of Change

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another. ~Anatole France

Getting ready to move and, while I’m looking forward to it, it’s not necessarily easy to leave a place I’ve been for seven years.
I have roots here, yanno? I mean, literally. Lol. I have rose bushes that are going on five years old. (Which I’ve dug up and am hoping survive cuz there is NO way I’m leaving them)
My parents are just down the road which has always worked out really well – they can see Colin whenever they like and dropping in on them is easy. It’s comforting. I love my family. I know it’s not like we’re moving eighteen thousand miles away but, still, I can’t just walk over in the summer to say hiya, yanno?

Ah well. The new place, while small, has a super nice backyard with two little decks/balconies and a natural downhill slope which will make for a gorgeous pond and waterfall.

It’ll all work out fine. I’m just suffering a few pains that are natural with change, I guess.

It will be mine and Taylor’s first place that we chose together. :) Even though he moved in and took over my apartment… lolol… this place will be “ours” not “mine”. And that’s totally cool.

So…
Time to set my mind to the future and let the past go, eh?

Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights. ~Pauline R. Kezer
