So my kid…
He spent half the semester working on this curio shelf thingy for me in woodshop at school.
And someone STOLE it. Took it off the shelf in the shop and walked out the door with it and probably gave it to THEIR mom.
WTF?
Who would DO that????????????
Evil people with no soul. That’s who. That sucks.
Laurel’s last blog post..Oh look, she’s changed it again!
Aww. Same thing happened here, too.
What really infuriated me (beyond how disappointed the kid was) was that the school just didn’t care. It was all very “Oh well. Nobody will admit it and these things happen and your kid can just make up the grade in another way.”
Um, no. No way is my kid going to have to do extra work because some other shit ruined his.
Your poor guy. :(
kaya’s last blog post..Last night…
That is really shitty Carrie.
Poor Kid… I hope he still gets his grade without having to do the project all over again.
Thankfully the teacher had already seen it, knew how Colin had basically done, and isn’t making him do a new project.
But, yeah, the attitude is pretty much “oh well. sucks to be you”
Jerks.
He will. The teacher is at least being good about that but this is twice it’s happened to him. The first item mysteriously reappeared, thank god.
You’d think they’d lock that shit up, eh?
I grew up in the days you could leave your house unlocked, your keys in the ignition in your driveway, or something in your yard and not have it disappear. As much as I love “modern times” and things like this magical world we’ve met in, I miss some of the old values…”if it’s not mine leave it alone” among them!
I’m so sorry for your son; to have things like this occur and begin the process of making him cynical at a time we’re supposed to be able to learn without it is so very sad!
Plus the loss of an heirloom that could have been handed down through the years!
Pass along a hug, please and take one for yourself?

alan’s last blog post..My last…
Thank you, Alan. That was really sweet.
The kid was pretty sad over it. Mostly cuz he made the shelf for me and a newspaper rack for his gramma and it broke his heart to have to tell me the one he made for me is the one that got taken.
He’s so sweet and sensitive sometimes.
And, of course, a typical asshole teenager at others. Lol.
Thank god for ‘em.
On the up side, he also made me a much longed for cutting board earlier in the year and himself a clock so at least three of the four projects came home properly and look wonderful. :)
…seriously? SERIOUSLY?! What kind of talentless fuck steals somebody else’s art project?!
I know, right? And the really weird part is the teacher thinks someone else took it, brought it to him to grade and THEN left with it. How does the teacher give some kid who DIDN”T make the thing a grade and not realize… duh… I never saw this kid work on this or when he was working on his it wasn’t this good?
Grrrr.
That is awesome that he will still get his grade and not have to start over.
You’d think… apparently they are oblivious to the fact that teens, even the good ones steal shit.
People suck, dude. Seriously. :(
