Speeding Bullets Hollow Point
Mini bullets. I’ll admit, right up front, that I’m not normally a fan.
Oh, I see the appeal in them. I can see why many do like them. For me, however, they usually end up being not strong enough and kind of boring. Buzzy. Too slick. Too pointy. And they take watch batteries, which are expensive considering you go thru a set with each use or two of most bullets.
I’ll also admit I’ve tried a few bullets of the watch battery taking, push button having, wireless sort that have been kind of nice. And so I figured I’d give a few more a chance and ordered a bunch of different bullets lately.
Today, I’m reviewing the Evolved Speeding Bullets Hollow Point.
As always, Evolved takes a good idea and steps it up a notch. This bullet is more powerful, more colorful, more interestingly shaped than most. It’s less pointy. It’s way less boring. Man, this thing has texture.
The Hollow Point is similar in size to most standard mini bullets only a bit thicker. It doesn’t fit well in toys (like Tantus and Vixen dildos) that take a mini bullet to turn them from a dildo to a vibrator. It measures right around 2 inches long by 2 inches around. Like most mini bullets it has a push button on/off switch on its cap, which twists off to insert 3 watch batteries. (The cap, not the switch) It’s sealed with an o-ring so use in the water is a-okay. The difference, right off the bat, is the fact that this bullet has multiple speeds and patterns.
A single press to the on/off button starts you out at a nice medium speed that is, like all bullets, a bit buzzy and high frequency but still usable, even by me who is highly sensitive to that sort of vibe. The second press takes you to a high, steady vibe that is a bit too strong and buzzy for me. Third press? Patterns! The first one is a fast pulsing, the second a very fast pulse. Think da-da-da-da-da and dadadadadadadadada, sorta like a wee little machine gun. The third is a short/long pulse. One short buzz, stop, one long. Think da-daaaaaa, da-daaaaaa. The last press, your sixth, turns it off.
All the patterns feel pretty good and are quite useful for varying your sensation. I do wish there was an easy off button that didn’t require scrolling thru all the patterns but I suppose that’s asking a bit much out of a sex toy this simple.
Moving on, the bullet itself is made from plastic – which can be a kind of slick, boring material sometimes. Not so with the Hollow Point! This plastic is matte and velvety to the touch, which gives you a nice little bit of drag and tug against the skin when you use it.
The tip of the bullet is rounded, like a little connected ball that tapers out into the slightly wider body of the bullet – which is ringed/ridged. Now, this is a tiny thing. You’re not going to insert it. That would just be silly unless you’re going for barely noticeable vibrating vagina. So the texture isn’t for internal stimulation but for external. Rubbing the ridges along your clitoris and labia adds a level of sensation that you just don’t get from most bullet vibes, especially the wireless, mini ones. It’s not an extreme texture. It’s not going to cause pain. But it is just enough to make it interesting.
Most of the vibrations in the Hollow Point are focused in the rounded tip but, since it’s so tiny, the entire thing really transmits vibrations throughout. So you can easily get vibes just as strong by rubbing the ridges against you as the tip – and a broader surface, as well, for those less into pinpoint clit stimulation.
So. Verdict?
I like it. It’s strong enough though still a wee bit buzzy for my tastes. The texture and velvety feel of the plastic help make up for that. The watch batteries are still a pain in the ass but the local Dollar Tree is now carrying them – 6 for a buck – so I can’t complain about cost. The vibrations last about 30 minutes so I get a couple uses out of each set of batteries, depending upon how I use it.
I really like how easy this sort of bullet is to tuck between two bodies during partner sex. No matter what position you’re in, it fits and doesn’t get in the way. Either of you can hold it and it adds just enough extra stimulation to amp up the fun but no real distraction or detraction. It’s fairly quiet and can’t be heard thru a closed door so the kids and neighbors aren’t going to wonder what the hell you’re doing with your weed whacker in the bedroom.
It’s a solid addition to the toy box. Easy to tuck in a drawer or purse, no one is going to look at it funny if they see it lying around – in fact, it looks a bit like a kid’s toy unless you already know what it is. I like it.
Do clean with soap and water, being careful to get any goo out of the ridges. Remember, it’s waterproof, so getting it wet won’t hurt it. You can use a mild bleach solution or rubbing alcohol on plastic, too, if you feel the need to share this or super clean it.
You can also use any lube you please with it; water based, silicone based or oil based. None of them will damage it in the least, though water based will wash off the easiest. I’ve found I rarely add lube at all; my natural wetness is usually enough and I kind of like the drag you get from the velvet coat plastic. Too much lube may have it darting right out of your fingers!
Packaging was not exactly noteworthy. A small black box with a plastic lid, not as “save-able” for storage and cuteness as most Evolved packaging but certainly nice in that it was little waste and contained everything it needed to – including the batteries.
I got this at EdenFantasys – where they also stock it in pink, purple and black. I chose blue because I don’t own many blue toys and it’s a fun, bright, true blue. They also have the Armor Piercing version, which is slightly more pointy, untextured and available in the same colors.
