A Thousand Words

So Rayne asked about my camera today and Laurel commented on some review pics taken with it so I figured I’d post an update. I do like the camera, quite a bit.  It’s still giving me some grief with focusing but I’m figuring my way around it.  If I had it to do over again?  I’d probably go with a bridge camera but this one was affordable and does alright. :) Some pics, unedited… In order…  Taylor, weeding the patio WV style. With a flame thrower.  The bubbly water in...

A case of the sads

Yanno… I had a blog post half typed out and I just deleted it. I got nothing really to say. My kid has completely fucked up his second semester of school.  He’s a good kid.  He’s just not all that fucking smart. “You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt.”

So today I dug all the weeds out of my garden — which I didn’t plant anything in last year so it had a years worth of weeds in it — and threw down some mulch and planted some seeds in those nifty little dome things in the kitchen.  Shortly I will have tomatoes and alyssum and marigolds and parsley and morning glories and lavender to put in the freshly weeded bed.  I already have chives and roses and there are lillies around the pond. Whew. I’m wiped out. I also got...

Fall

“The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August, and here and there a yellow leaf shows itself like the first gray hair amidst the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many. ” ~Oliver Wendell Holmes Fall is coming.  Can you smell it?  I almost can. It sneaks in thru the windows at night, that crisp, dying scent. And yet the days are still warm and sunny and long. The kids hurry now, squeezing the last bits of summer from their days.  Sighing...
