I woke up this morning to a little winter wonderland. The first snow of the year. I love snow, especially in November, December and January. By February and March I’m tired of it but early in winter? It excites me every time. It’s insulating, snow. You feel like you’re in your own quiet little world.
Sunday Scribbles
I’m sitting outside on my balcony. Yes, in November. Remember when Taylor put up that awning for me and built me in a desk? As Fall approached, we also closed the space in. We used that window plastic stuff, a layer inside and out, so I can still completely see out and get any sunlight
Sunday Scribbles
The glasses are dark, your lips get chapped, there is sweat in the crotch of your jeans but you toss your head back and worship the hot, golden sun and endless blue sky.
Ahhhh, weekend, how I love you
No idea what’s on the agenda for tomorrow. Possibly a thermos full of coffee and a day under my awning, typing up reviews.
Full
I’ve found that utter laziness and do-nothingness makes it seem like wasted time so I’m interspersing the lazy with some fun and some productive
Vanilla Sugar, it’s Not Personal
Nothing – nothing – does it for me like curling up in my chair, done with work, weather gone gray, toss on a sweatshirt afternoons with a cup of vanilla sugar coffee. It’s the most relaxed I get. Ever.
Insulated
It’s a flurry of flakes, like little angry ice stars, pelting anyone who dares step outside, tap, tap, tapping against the glass.
Snow! For me!
Omg, it’s snowing! I love snow. Love. Lovelovelovelovelove!
Happy Half Nekkid Thanksgiving?
Happy Half Nekkid Thanksgiving!
Sunday Laziness
Have I mentioned that I love lazy Sundays in bed? I do. This morning I got up, let the dogs out, made some coffee, let the dogs back in, grabbed my mug and headed back to the bedroom. Taylor was like… ”You’re going back to bed????” and before I could even say anything, he was
putt putt take two
Camping was an absolute blast. It ended up being just Taylor and I since our friends, one by one, dropped out. (Not cuz we smell bad or anything. Just a lot of sickness and emergency work calls and whatnot) But it was good. We headed out on the bike around nine in the morning and
Saturday Babbling
Yawnnnn Strechhhhhh. What a lazy Saturday. The laptop didn’t show up until almost seven last night. Talk about dragging out the anticipation. Sheesh. FedEx is a sadistic company. All in all, though, I was pretty impressed. I ordered it on Tuesday after the close of normal business hours and had it in my greedy
Heat, words, nipples, meds
Well, summer has finally come to Wisconsin. It was in the upper eighties yesterday, set to stick somewhere in the nineties today. The air? It’s on. And I slept until eleven two mornings in a row. Yay me! It feels like forever since I slept in. That Teen turned sixteen last week. Today and yesterday
Mondays suck
So we’re out on the bikes the other day, cruisin’ around in the sunshine and heat, enjoying some country roads, lake views and prairie scenery. All is good. Everyone is mellow. There’s next to no traffic and we can all just about feel the stress of the week melting off us. We pulled over at
Haphazard Thoughts
It’s fucking hot. Eighty degrees and muggy and humid and nasty. The Teen is sleeping. Taylor is sleeping. I know better than to attempt a nap this late in the day so I took a bath. Bad idea. Now I’m even more hot since I’m incapable of taking a cool bath. I have a freaking
Totally Vanilla Love and Stuffs
So last year (there I go, doing it again. I start so many blog posts with “so…”. It’s like I was in the middle of a conversation with y’all, got distracted and came right back to it like I never stopped. Heh) Anyhow. Last year, Taylor saw some guy giving away a shed on Craigslist
Remember?
When I was longing for Fall? We’re way past that. Remember when I was enthralled with Winter? When the snow made me smile? Yeah. We’re past that, too. Wisconsin is stupid and the snow has all but stopped and we’ve had nothing but cold. Biting, stabbing, painful cold and dark. Until today. Today we got
Fall
“The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August, and here and there a yellow leaf shows itself like the first gray hair amidst the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many. ” ~Oliver Wendell Holmes Fall is coming. Can you smell it? I almost can. It sneaks
Clockin’ In
Well… I sure haven’t written here in awhile, have I? Both lots going on and nothing going on at the same time, if that makes sense. Let’s see if I can hit the major points, hmmm? Taylor got a new job. He was working for a company thru the temp agency for two months and
Gods in the Garden
I think that if ever a mortal heard the voice of God it would be in a garden at the cool of the day. ~F. Frankfort Moore, A Garden of Peace Now we all know I don’t believe in the traditional version of god but…I have to admit I find my garden – and gardening
Winter in a Nutshell….
I’m knocked out, I’ve never felt so physically and mentally exhausted, I’m quite stupid with it and long only for bed; but I am happy… (Claude Monet) And that about describes my winter thus far.
Whole lotta nuttin’ goin’ on….
Though why I feel the need to write about nothing is beyond me. Lol. Seriously, I just like to keep this thing fairly updated. Nothing much has changed. The house is still crowded, I’m still basically smoke free, I’m still fairly grumpy most of the time. There are good things going on, of course. Colin
Holiday Reflections
Well…It’s that time of year again.Cold outside, everything frozen, people rushing from their cars to wherever they need to go…The longest day of the year over and the promise of more light just ahead of us…Christmas and my birthday right around the corner…A new year to begin soon… And life is really good.Taylor’s workin’ steady
Autumn ending…
If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It’s a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. Mother Earth just closed up the drapes on another year and it’s time to reflect on
