I was going to wait to do this review. I really was. I mean, the toy just came in the mail on Friday. But then Taylor got ahold of it today and it was just too magically delicious to not share immediately.
I’ve been lusting after glass dildos for more than a year; drooling over them online and enviously reading other reviews. I wanted this baby so badly I stubbed my toe and almost fell, ass over tea kettle, sprinting down the steps and to the mailbox when I heard the mailman. It was not a pretty sight.
The gold fumed, spiral wrapped love wand, however, is a very pretty sight indeed. It’s beyond pretty. It’s freaking gorgeous.
The pictures I got of it just do not do it justice. They do look a little different than the pictures on Eden Fantasys, though, so I’m going to post them even though they aren’t perfect.
In fact, that’s the first thing I noticed when I opened the box. The pictures on Eden Fantasys make the dildo appear to have eleven or twelve spirals; the pictures on the Phallix site make it appear to have eight. Mine has six. Odd enough to make me scratch my head, not bothersome enough to effect how much I love the toy. I figure it has something to do with the lighting and how the spirals show thru the glass.
Ok. Let’s get to reviewing this thing, hmmm?
The Spiral Wrapped Wand comes in pry apart plastic packaging (thankfully void of any vapid naked women) along with a thin, hot pink satin pouch and a product description card. The description card has lots of vapid, half naked women drooling over numerous glass sex toys – but it also contains safety, cleaning and usage information so I’m willing to forgive the bad marketing.
The wand itself is seven inches of clear, straight glass wrapped in gorgeous, gold fumed spirals. I absolutely adore the gold fumed glass pieces; I love how they look both pink and gold; I love how they look somehow soft even though they’re hard. The wand I chose has a one inch diameter with a round ball end and a tapered end. (The toy also comes in a 3/4 inch diameter) The wrapped spirals add, according to the product specs, an additional .12 inch to the diameter and the ball end is approximately 1.25 inches in diameter.
It really is quite beautiful and, though I didn’t have a chance to use it the day it arrived, I’ll admit to pulling it out of it’s pouch over and over again to fondle it. The spirals are pronounced and literally gave me little shivers when I’d run the length of the toy thru my hand.
I got some alone time the next day – and damn near stubbed my toe again in my haste to get from kissing Taylor good bye at the door to the bed with my pretty glass wand. I lubed up with some of my favorite BSE lube and slipped that puppy in…
And it sucked.
It hurt. The spirals felt like giant ridges. It felt way bigger than just over an inch in diameter. It was rough and uncomfortable and irritating, especially at the entrance of my vagina where it rubbed against my labia.
I was crushed. I almost cried. My longed for, lusted over toy felt horrible!
And then I stopped thrusting and just twirled it a little. Hmmm. Much nicer. I twirled and just slightly thrusted and the palm of my hand was rocking over my clitoris and – next thing I know – it’s starting to feel pretty damned good. It took me awhile and I ended up needing a good amount of clitoral stimulation but, by god, I got off.
I was still vaguely disappointed but I realized I’d been way, way too hasty. Glass toys are not meant to be jammed in before you’re aroused and ready for them. Glass is hard and unforgiving and feels larger than it is because it has no give. Shoving it into a less than ready pussy just wasn’t a good idea. No matter how badly I wanted to use the thing foreplay would have been a grand idea! Want does not equal ready. Foreplay equals ready.
Having had a less than ideal experience with it the first time, I was a little apprehensive when Taylor pulled it out today. We’d already been messing around for almost an hour. A twenty minute blowjob that was interrupted had us jumping each other the second we were alone again. It also had us starting over, working ourselves up again. I was two or three orgasms in by the time Taylor pulled out the pretty new Phallix toy. Despite my apprehension my pussy was more than ready this time.
And this time? Sweet leaping jesus, I loved it!
I really was worried that in Taylor’s hands, thrusting the way he tends to thrust, the wand was going to hurt like hell.
It didn’t. It was much more noticably cold this time – probably because I was so heated. The cool, hard glass felt incredible. The swirls were amazing and not the least bit painful; even with hard, rapid thrusting they felt good rather than invasive. This time, they rubbed just right.
There is something absolutely amazing about glass. It’s so firm, has so little give, it’s like it was made to zero in on the g spot and force you to ejaculate. And I did. And did. And did.
Holy crap.
And then Taylor stuck it up my butt.
Initially, I was like “Uh, Dude, those ridges are gonna hurt. Nuh uh. Let’s not do that.” And the next thing I know my knees are hugged to my chest and my eyes are rolled back in my head and I’m having fan-fucking-tastic assgams. (Is assgams a word? No? Fuck it. Let’s just say I got off. A lot. Repeatedly.)
Now I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the Gold Spiral Wrapped Wand for solo anal play. The larger ball end isn’t that much larger than the shaft itself so it could, conceivably, slide completely into the anal cavity. But with a partner I felt pretty safe. The chances of it slipping out of his hand and all the way into my ass was pretty slim. It could happen, however, so I’m not going to say this toy is anal safe.
It is, however, a breeze to clean. Glass is non porous so it can be sterilized by either boiling or using a ten percent bleach solution. It can also be washed in the dishwasher, top shelf, no soap. It can just as easily be cleaned with soap and hot water if you’re not planning to share it and don’t need to sterilize each time you use it. Glass doesn’t hold scents or odors, either.
Phallix glass toys are made of Pyrex which is shatter resistant so it’s not likely to break even if dropped.
Glass sex toys are also very, very responsive to temperature. They’re deliciously cool at room temperature but can be warmed up or cooled down by running them under the appropriate temperature water. They can be iced down in the freezer or warmed in the microwave. Just be careful when playing with temperature as it’s easy to damage tender tissue with too much heat or cold.
Glass toys need very little lube and can be used with any type of lube you prefer. I like silicone best and on the non porous glass it lasted a long, long time for us.
So. Verdict? Glass rocks. It’s magic. And I’m dehydrated.
Unfortunately, Eden Fantasys is discontinuing this particular glass toy. Check the other glass toys they have available. It’s a large selection and a few of them are 22% off right now! These, in particular, are very, very similar – in design and price – to the Wand I reviewed: Multi-textured Love Wand, Martina Warren Signature Glass Dildo Wand, Swirl Rib Glass Dildo Probe and the Sparkle Scepter.

I recently got to review the Tentacle Jr for Eden Fantasys – another fucking awesome and fantasy inducing dildo from Whipspider Rubberworks. The review isn’t live yet but I wanted to share the pictures, at least. The Jr is similar to the original Tentacle only smaller, slimmer, with a less extreme hook to it, a [...]

This is almost identical to my own glass dildo. I got it a few years back strictly for anal use …like you said it can be cleaned in the dishwasher and is non-porous. It has, on occasion, been used in ways other than I originally intended. I absolutely love it and really only wish it had pretty colors like yours. Mine is just plain clear with the swirly thing around it.
I recommend tossing it in the freezer sometime. :)
A note to Taylor: Don’t make her suck on it, she’ll chip at tooth! And…unless she’s got a seriously gifted pussy, no way is she gonna be able to hold it inside while walking across the room…not that I’d know or anything. :)
Glad you enjoyed. I have a toy in the same line – gorgeous. I think the difference in the number spirals is, at least partially, due to the fact that viewing it form different angles makes it appear like there are more/less spirals. Not sure if I described that right but this has been my experience.
