Tryst

tryst 002The first time I tried a wood sex toy I was slightly disappointed.  It was smallish, light weight and felt kind of hollow.  And then I tried a Nobessence wood dildo and I have been singing Hallelujah ever since.

Nobessence toys are NOT light weight.  They do not feel hollow. They are not small.  Instead, they are large, amazingly weighty yet not fatiguing to use and feel substantial in the hand.  They are created to fully please the body, to be multi-purpose, to really hit your spots with no room for error.

In short, they are amazing.

I called the Intrigue the “toy that stole my words” and I wasn’t kidding.  The Tryst is doing its best to do the same. I do not have the words to describe this toy in a way that does it any sort of justice.

The Tryst (called the Dual use S shape on Eden Fantasys) is a double ended dildo designed to give specific and differing sensations with each end. (In other words, it’s mean to have two sides you can choose between, not to be used by two people at once.)  It is made of solid wood, finished with Nobessence’s trademark Lubrosity coating and meant to last a lifetime with proper care.

From the Nobessence site:

We hand-select our woods, carve, and meticulously polish all our sculptures using the highest American standards of craftsmanship. Our silky-smooth, state-of-the-art,
bio-compatible Lubrosity™ finishes ensure that your intimate time is expended in stimulation, not sterilization.

NobEssence’s trade secret Lubrosity™ coatings and processes stem from years of meticulous research and development and meet USP Class IV and VI Medical Standards. Sculptures attentively encapsulated in Lubrosity™ coatings are odorless, may be soaked in water, and remain in body-contact for hours at a time – no waxes to melt away, no salad bowl oils to leach out or maintain, and no toxic petroleum distillates.

This means the product you purchase that is made by Nobessence is safe, green and silky smooth to the touch, with no rough spots, no wearing of the coating, no worries about porosity.  The toys are not cheap.  They are, in fact, priced quite high.  But they are, without a doubt, worth it.

And, yes, I did purchase this one.  It was not a freebie – though I did get a discount.  (So can you if you use the code 6GR at checkout. 15% off isn’t a lot, but it’s nothing to sneeze at with a more spendy item like this.)

The Tryst I got is a natural colored wood.  Eden Fantasys doesn’t give you a choice or describe the wood but from what I can gather, this appears to be Elanthai.  (At least that’s the lighter wood option offered on the Nobessence site. It could be bamboo?)  It is very pale with random darker “speckles” and graining.

One side of the Tryst is hooked for g-spot (or p-spot) stimulation.  It has a large, rounded, bulbed end that measures 4″ around.  It tapers down after the bulb, curving into the shaft, which measures 5.5″ around.  Total length of the sculpture is 10″.  The bulb is nicely girthy, with enough surface to really give a good g-spot massage, especially since you don’t have to thrust like an insane monkey but can rock and rub the toy and the effect is just as amazing.

The other end is beaded with four bulging bloops down it’s shaft.  It is also curved, making it an excellent handle when using the bulbed side, since it curves up toward you and enables you to reach and thrust and rock with little effort, or you can use it for insertion either vaginally or anally.  Each bead can be felt upon insertion and with thrusting.  The finish is smooth but the texture is like pleasurable speed bumps.  I really, really like this side for anal play since it’s 1.25″ in diameter at it’s widest point.  An inch and a quarter is manageable by just about any level of user and the curve and beads make it pleasurable for even advanced anal players.

tryst 007tryst and intrigue

The Tryst came in a really nice cardboard box, two toned with a top that slides off vertically rather than lifting off horizontally.  The box is excellent for storage or for gifting but I tend to store mine along with my other wooden toys in a drawer where they don’t get bumped or banged around but can be easily reached for.

And reach for this one I do.  What I love most about it – and the Intrigue, really – is the intuitive shape that makes using it so, so, so very easy.  And effective.  G-spot orgasms, for me, are a given with the Tryst.  I prefer it over the Pure Wand, in fact.  Squirting is almost guaranteed.  And?  It’s easy to fit a small clitoral vibe between this and your body so you can get dual stimulation without a lot of finagling.

I imagine it works just as well for male bodied folks, stimulating the prostate.  It’s shape almost means you can’t miss.  It’s that intuitive and exact.

You can use any type of lube with the Tryst.  I prefer silicone for the glide without stickiness or gloopiness but whatever works best for you will work with the dildo.  You can also clean this just about any way you like; use a toy wipe, some toy cleaner spray, soap and warm water or even a mild bleach solution.  I don’t know that I’d boil it but that’s personal choice for me. As mentioned, it can withstand soaking in water.  I’m just afraid the rapid change in temperature may crack the wood.

If a wood toy cracks, it is best – always! – to dispose of it.  Cracks in the wood can harbor bacteria and make it porous.

One of my favorite things about wood is how natural and primal I feel when I use it.  It really does feel kind of spiritual, if you’re open to that sort of thing, and very “back to nature”.  It makes me want to romp in the woods, the meadow, the secluded lake.  To you, it may just be another sex toy but for me, it makes me feel at one with my inner nymph.  Plus, you know, the g-spot orgasms are amazing.

We have two NobEssence toys. The Romp and the Intrigue, and we love them both to bits. After reading this, I could see us getting the Tryst pretty soon as well ;)
