Twisted Minds Twist Everything

“Indecency, vulgarity, obscenity – these are strictly confined to man; he invented them. Among the higher animals there is no trace of them. They hide nothing; they are not ashamed. Man, with his soiled mind, covers himself. Man is the Animal that Blushes. He is the only one that does it – or has occasion to.” ~Mark Twain

What gets me is this…
People get embarrassed – or frown at you as if you’ve committed some horribly indecent act – by a public fart. Yet they are not ashamed of lying, cheating, stealing, gossiping, back-stabbing or a zillion other things that are, generally, wrong and hurtful to other people.
People will willfully and blantantly lie to get what they want – be it a bigger tax return, a promotion at work or some young thing they can’t do without even though they’re married. But they get their moral panties all tied up in knots over things like mannequins in a lingerie store wearing lingerie (thanks, Gate. I”m gonna be thinking about that for days!) or what some group they don’t even belong to is doing with it’s money. Why? Because their dirty minds find lingerie clad mannequins to be sexy? Because seeing those mannequins causes them to want to bang someone other than their fat, snobby wives? Because they lie and cheat and steal so often when it comes to money they automatically assume others are, too?

People get disgusted by public displays of affection. They say that stuff should be kept at home, in private. And, sure, I’ll agree that fucking and passionate foreplay should probably not occur at the circus. But everyone fucks. From fish to kangaroos – we all do it. It’s natural. We all shit, too. But people will get all embarrassed and pinch their cheeks together to hold in the crap if they happen to be doing it in a public restroom and someone else walks in. *insert a disgusted, dramatic eyeroll here* Yet these same people who find it offensive to see someone kiss in public or to smell shit in a public restroom find absolutely NOTHING wrong with belittling or mistreating those they consider to be “less” than they are. Or with cheating on their wives… so long as they don’t get caught. And even then it’s generally the wife’s fault, you know. If she wasn’t cold or getting old or gone to fat or always bitchy…

Hmmph.

It’s all a bunch of bullshit.

I live my life in a way that allows me to feel proud of myself.
I don’t mistreat people. I give what I can, when I can. I take care of those who are mine to care for. I don’t lie or steal. I don’t cheat. I may hurt someone with my honesty but I’m never going to be the one doing it behind your back. I try to be considerate of others.
I’m not perfect but I rarely do anything that makes me ashamed.

People would be better people if they realized that shitting, pissing, belching, farting, fucking, playing and being human are NOT the things they need to blush over – but instead began to blush each time they treated a waitress poorly or refused to give a job to someone because of the way they look. If they would blush when they DID immoral things rather than protesting that someone else caused their immoral thoughts and actions.

Mannequins in panties are offensive? Only if your own dirty mind makes them offensive. If you’re the one visualizing those panties on a sixteen year old girl it’s not the mannequins fault. It’s your own perversions you haven’t learned to deal with, your own moral offenses slapping you in the face.

*I* can see those mannequins without being offended or thinking anything that may make me blush.
Why can’t you?
