Warming lubes sort of freak me out, mostly because they don’t really warm.
It’s odd.
Most of them contain menthol — but so do cooling and tingling lubes and stimulation gels. So does Icy Hot. And Carmex. And Vicks VapoRub. And while menthol sometimes brings an immediate sensation of warmth, that warmth is usually followed by a much longer sensation of cold. Tingly cold. Which is what you expect, since menthol is basically mint. Mint is cool.
So anyhow. The Sliquid Organics warming lube is, like most warming lubes, more tingly cool than warm. I rather like that sensation for external use; for clit and labia play with toys and with fingers. But when used for penetration? It freaks me out. It’s like too much sensation on top of the friction and rubbing of toy or penis along my vaginal walls. It’s like there’s an alien that has joined in and is playing inside my pussy.
I’m on an alien kick lately. Hmmm…
So, for me, Sliquid Organics warming lube is best used for solo times when I really only want external stimulation. It’s definitely a no go for anal since it feels even weirder in the booty. And Taylor loathes menthol so it’s a “oh, but hell no!” for him for masturbation. But that’s not to say it’s a bad lube. I’m actually very fond of Sliquid Organics lubes and anyone who likes that tingly feeling is sure to really like this one. It’s not overwhelming or strong but is definitely noticeable — unlike some that leave you wondering when the hell you’re going to feel something.
It’s slick and fairly thick; definitely thicker than silicone and even a lot of other water based lubes. It’s easy to apply and stays put for long enough to get it where you need it. It does, like all water based lubes, tend to need reapplication if you go for a long time but will certainly last long enough for an average bout of sex or masturbation. It doesn’t feel sticky to me and mostly absorbs into the skin as it dries rather than getting clumpy or flaky. The bottle is a nice, plastic, apothecary brown with a natural paper looking label. It has a click up top and squeezes out easily. It’s even sort of discreet, appearing to be a bottle of… well… it could be anything and wouldn’t cause second looks if left laying around.
The best thing about Sliquid Organics lubes, though, is that they’re pretty much all natural. No glycerin, no parabens, no petro chemicals or l-argentine — all things that can cause a bad reaction in some people. They contain primarily water as well as: Plant cellulose, Aloe borbadenis*, Vitamin E, Cyamopsis, Extracts of Hibiscus*, Flax*, Green tea* and Sunflower seed*, Menthol, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol. (Starred items are certified organic) So they’re good for you, good for the earth and a much better choice than many other lubes.
Eden Fantasys has an entire range of Sliquid lubes, most of which are good for you and can be used with any sextoys. Don’t like warming? Check out the other lubes. There’s sure to be something you do like. :)
